Here are the partners for the Dotee Oct Swap:

2. You must email your partner and exchange names & addresses by October 14th. Mail out deadline is October 31.
3.Body of doll should be 3”-5” (not counting the loop on top of head or beads hanging below).
4. Doll can be made from, and decorated with, any materials. (fabric, felt, beads, etc)
5. If you need ideas, do a google images search or see tutorials on youtube.

I find that even when life is crazy and I am doing things for everyone else except myself, if i have a deadline because I committed to something, it allows me to carve out a private time (even if only 1/2 hour) to spend some time in creativity.
I encourage anyone to spend some time on a Dotee doll - they don't really take much in materials, you can use what you have on hand, 1/2 hour is usually more than enough time to complete one, and it allows focus on creative "birthing" of an idea.
You could use them as springboards to other ideas, or you could just allow them to be an end in themselves. It is fine, no matter what. As the original Dot said, these are to "spread love".
Here are some comments I have copied from squi-doo
It's been about 3 months since my first initial introduction to dotee dolls and I made my first one. Not necessarily like the tutorial that Dot put up in her blog but my very own creation. It's cute, even my boys think so and you know how much 'macho' boys love dolls!
I'm a fan of dotee dolls now. Why?
* Any crafter (expert or beginner) can make these dolls.
* You can make them as a form of therapy
* A child(or beginning crafter) can learn basic sewing skills by making something fun and collectible
* You can use up all those extra crafty tidbits you have lying around
* You can share the love by trading/swapping them either online or meetups with dotee followers
* You can express yourself however you please and not go wrong
* There is no RIGHT way to make a dotee doll
* They are unique
* They are cute just like those butt ugly dogs that at first you shy away from but then can't get enough of.

WELL.. I LOVE MY LITTLE APPLE ANNIE.. She had a tough time though after getting here. Her former mom (Darlene) emailed that she was making a wonderful apple dessert (we were having cookies here.. no apples in the recipe.)
She was so sad.. cried and cried and cried. Making apple cake this week end in her honor.
Katie.. the dotee who went to live with Darlene.. is a head strong young'un who likes to have her own way about her. She should be listening to her elders.. but alas, she is still a teenager at heart.
