Hi girls,

I wear a lot of head scarves. I have summer ones, warm wool ones, pretty ones, grubby ones. I probably have as many scarves as I do aprons.

Does anyone have any clever ideas for organization? I thread them through every drawer handle, hang them on every spare nail and hook.. I would so much rather have something functional that keeps them all together. I was thinking maybe clothes pins nailed to an old barn board, but I want it to be kinda pretty too, being a girl an all.

Would a tie rack work for this? One for the closet or a dresser top one maybe.

I don't wear head scarves but have a lot of neck scarves (gosh, I only wear a few of them any more). I keep them in a rubbermaid see-through box in the bottom of my closet. If you want to display them, and if they are all standard sizes, maybe fold them in a see-through box and put on a shelf?

hmm..you could use a piece of board/spray paint your board a color to match your decor. Then paint a pretty design around the edges...flowers or a checkerboard pattern. Stencil the words of a short saying or the word "Welcome" onto the board. Then attach a row of evenly spaced hooks all along the bottom of the board. On the back attach sawtooth picture hangers.

babs ... if you love them .. is there room in your house to actually 'display' them? you could do it 'seasonally' .. and hang them from peg rack .. i do this with my favorite jewelry .. on a peg rack on the bathroom wall behind the door. i also hang my 'native american jewelry as 'decorations'.

Lately I've seen short clotheslines and clip-type clothespins used to hang postcards, kids' art, etc. against a wall. Looks really cute! You could do that with your scarves, perhaps.

IF you have one of those wooden fold out drying racks they would nice hanging on that and show off good. Especially if you happen to have a closed in porch you came into, or if it would fit in a entry way somehow.

I love all these ideas, how about using the clothes line idea but painting the clothes pins all different colors. I do that to use them for closing bags and posting notes. You might even be able to dye the rope if you get the cotton kind. Good luck, Barbara

I like the decorated board idea but instead of hooks, what if you used tiny screw-in eyes and used cord or fishline to attach those plastic rings - the ones that are about 1" in diameter? If you didn't like the white rings, they do come in silver or you could cover the rings by wrapping with embroidery floss. You could have a couple of rows, the scarves would slip in and out easily when you needed one without the worry of snagging on a nail or hook.

What about a baseball cap holder - the vertical ones with little clips that fasten to your closet door?
