I have tiny little ants all over my kitchen counters. I have been good about keeping my dishes washed up so I know it's not food calling them. How do I get rid of these tiny but industrious little pests?!

I HATE ANTS! I had a bag of sugar in my pantry a few weeks ago and it was full of those tiny black piss ants. That's what we always called them. So I put a whole bag of sugar in a glass container with tin foil in the lid. I looked awhile ago and there were ants all over INSIDE the jar. So I have ant spray now. And I use it. What else works really good but you will think every ant in the country has come to eat it, is the Toro bait. It's horrible for a few days but then they are all gone.

I also just saw on FB where you can take a Tbls. of Borax and jelly and make a paste and it does the same thing. Also ants don't like cinnamon so sprinkle it all along your countertops and floors. Your house will smell good too!

I had small ants in the house. I've never had that before. I put Borax out and it controlled it a bit. As I was mowing, I noticed the bushes on the side of the house were touching and rubbing against the corner of the house. As I looked close, the ants were on the branches and crawling on the house. I cut back all the branches and the ant population has gone down dramatically.

That's exactly what these are, Kris. Those teeny tiny little ants. Oh they are terrible. You wouldn't think the little ones do, but these little buggers bite!
Toro? Where can I find it?

MArly--we just cut out a bunch of bushes and trees along the fenceline, would that bring them in?

Terro, Jess. You can get it at Walmart. I was there yesterday and they have some in at the CC one.

But only--how did you take it?

I looked at our Walmart and figured they must have stopped carrying it. I will shoot over there sometime and get it. These ants are vicious little pests! If I have to, I'll order it in bulk online. After all, there is more than one summer!
thanks!

I have always gotten it at Ace Hardware. I had some of my produce baskets sitting on the garage floor and on a cooler. They all had peppers or something in each one. I put them all in the car, themn noticed there were tiny little black ants on top of the cooler. I ran out to the car and sure enough, all over the back of the car. I had to take everything out and sprayed the back down with ant spray. Now it smells horrible. I left eh doors open.

Oh Yikes!! I hope you can get them out of your car. That is one of those things that would make my skin crawl to find! UGH! Hope they clear out in a hurry!

Jesse, only if the bushes or trees were against the house or touching it. I'm assuming that is where the majority of the ants were coming in from. Today, I only found two dead ones. My inside cat paws them to death!

I went and got the liquid Terro. I put in places I know the ants are, but where the kids couldn't get to them. I am sure hoping it helps. I can't stand the sight of them anymore. >:(

I hope the terro is working, that is my usual method. However, I needed to put something out that was non-toxic while a family with kids was visiting. I had read that if you put a small pile of corn meal out, the ants will eat it and "blow up". I tried it overnight and the next morning the pile of corn meal was down considerably and there were no ants. No sign of them blowing up either!

I tried the cornmeal but I found that it not only drew the attention of the little ants, but that of my little boys too! Cornmeal everywhere! LOL! I can laugh now, but I sure wasn't when they spread it all over the place. :P
