and it worked! The newest thing going around the blogs is making hard boiled egs by baking them. I guess the original idea came from Alton Brown on the food network. It's also suppose to make farm fresh eggs much easier to peel (ant it was). Here's a link http://www.alaskafromscratch.com/2012/04/06/quick-tip-baked-hard-cooked-eggs/

I should really try this! We have hens that lay the most amazing eggs but we can't find a way to hard boil them that is easy to peel.

Just make sure you know your oven. If your oven is like mine I preheat it and it beeps saying it's reached the temperature I set and I check my oven thermometer and it's far from it so I didn't put them in until it read 350.

Sounds like a great way to hard cook eggs. Wonder why they don't blow up. I think they do in the microwave.

That's what I thought they might do but they didn't. Go figure. If Alton Brown figured it out he probably knows the science. behind it.

I'll have to remember this trick when my girls start laying (hopefully very soon!).

You can also hard boil your eggs in a double boiler for 13 minutes, then submerge in cold water and they peel like a charm.
