I have 5 long haired cats that I brush all the time, should I be saving their hair for the spinning class?

April,

How far are you from Vermillion, SD? Not far. I would like to come, but need to check with hubby...is it ladies only? I home educate and will need to adjust my schedule. I want to learn to drop spindle. I've tried spinning a foot or so of LGD undercoat and it was amazing. I have a book on it. Also, the t-shirt yarn. I might not be able to come until Friday evening.

As for the cat hair question...I think it has to be washed and carded first? You should bring it but keep it away from me, I am allergic! LOL
I am so looking forward to this outing! Really need some farmgirl time.

As much as I would love to be there, I'm afraid it's a no go for me. We have horses in the OK State Fair Gypsy Horse show the following weekend. Busy time for us at the ranch.

You girls have a great time under the stars!

Okay, April.

Do I need to bring you money? Is there going to be a place that I can get drinking/cooking water? I can bucket. We found out that our battery fell off its screw and leaked and we are working on that. I have to make sure that the black water tank holds.

I am okay with roughing it, but you all might like me to have a sponge bath.

Do I need to bring rovings? Old t-shirts? Can you make a suggested supply list for the activities? I am sorry that I am a bit clueless. I'm just new I guess.

We do have water you can use for cooking/etc., as far as a checklist of things to bring, I will get on that asap! :) We are getting a headcount and figuring out logistics with what we will suggest for some of the activities etc. I will post more details very soon and I'm trying to get a firm dollar amount and supply list from the teachers for the classes. I'm so excited you are able to make it! I'll keep you in the loop! :)

April,
As for the Tarn class, farmgirls should bring some old t-shirts preferably without too much graphics. Printed are ok if they are not the rubbery kind. Scissors and large crochet hook size P or above. The t-shirts without side seams work better. I will bring extra hooks and some patterns and projects.

Dutch oven cooking: bring dutch oven, charcoal, charcoal starter etc... I will bring recipes and we could shop for food together.
I will include some of this in the snail mail I am sending you.
