I am really excited! I am going to spend part if not all of the day up in Red Lodge at an English Shepherd Club Event. This year, Stormy will not really participating I don't think- we found out about it too late, but I am hoping it is fun and informitive. I am already looking forward to other events and next year!
Stormy is a purebred English Shepherd, but is not papered due to a long story and a breeder who got overwhelmed and had something like 300 dog seized from her property. Anyway- once we have the ranch I would like to maybe get a litter or two out of her and if we really like what we see we might find a papered female and breed papered English Shepherds.
They are considered a rare breed, but are really great ranch dogs and in this area they seem to be in demand- but if we do breed- and we haven't decided to yet- it would only be very minimally and only when we knew we had homes for some of the puppies before the breeding.
I have already had two people demand a puppy from Stormy if we decide to breed her. That was pretty amazing to me!

My friends here near Missoula just got a male ES puppy... Wonder if they know about this... Think I'll call them :)

The key is: only breed for quality, never ever quanity, and only if you have more than enough interested buyers, along with purebreds with papers, especialy with a rare breed...

Tina- I 100% agree. We are still debating whether we want to go through the expense and risk involved with breeding.
Stormy and I had a lot of fun today. We are going out tomorrow too. The people out there were fabulous. Very loving and welcoming. Everyone was very sweet to my little girl. She had a blast and minded her manners like a doll. I am so proud. Tomorrow I will try to get some pictures!

Nice, are they doing trials or anything? Or is it just a big get-together?

It's a big get together with learning type trials- more clinics I guess you could say. I was only there for a couple hours yesterday because I had to work. I am looking at going out all day today! Yay!! :)
