Thats what I posted about on my site today. The book and the doll. I really should see about getting the rest of the Anne books.

I love anything to do with Anne. Love the doll and the books are timeless and wonderful to read. Anne's story has always been one of my favorites.

I love Anne of Green Gables. I never read the books, but I love the movies.

Oh Marly, you should get the books! They are so much better than the movies! (Of course, I think that about a lot of books turned movies!) But there is so much more detail & "stuff" they leave out of the movies! The one exception to that is Road to Avonlea, that was based on "The Story Girl" & "The Golden Road", both by LM Montgomery.

Nancy, I love your version of the book - that's so awesome :). I used to have all of the books from my grandparents & my one aunt, but somehow they got lent out & I never got them back :(. I do have all of the Anne books now, and some of the others - I love my series books! - but I've learned my lesson on lending out books!

Nancy, what a treasure you have! I have to share a sweet story with you about Anne of Green Gables. My children were home schooled as were all of their friends and so Anne of Green Gables was a staple in many of the homes. When my daughter was a pre-teen, she and her best friend loved to read all of the AoGG books. They were both hams and so one day they treated the friend's mom and me to a play, that they had devised on their own, with the raspberry cordial drunk scene. My daughter played Anne. It was hillarious. Fast forward to 4 years ago. My daughter was 26 and preparing for her wedding. She and her hubby-to-be decided to honeymoon on Prince Edward Island, a place where I used to visit and play when I was a young girl. One of the high spots of their honeymoon was a visit to Anne's home with an accompanying picture of my daughter with a bottle of "raspberry cordial" that was sold in the gift shop. It was so sweet that her new husband was so thoughtful to take her to such a 'girly' place and was such an awesome memory for my "Okie" daughter.

Nancy, you should read some of the others. Outside of the Anne books, the Emily books are great too. And I especially love Jane of Lantern Hill.

I really like the Emily books too, maybe more than Anne lol. I love both of them. Make sure you read the books in order. My favorites were #1, #3 (Anne of The Island), #5 (Anne's House of Dreams, even though it is sad), & #6 (Anne of Ingleside). Another LMM "series" that I liked was The Golden Road & The Story Girl. Hope you enjoy reading them!
