Thought we'd start sharing some of the pics and narratives of our adventures as we trek across the state of Colorado on our Farmgirl Adventures!

However, we're NOT going to share it all with you all at once . . if ya' wanna know more ya' have to check back for the latest pics and updates on our adventures.

This first pic is of four of the members of FARMGIRLS SOUTHWEST HENHOUSE . . having a wonderful lunch at "The Pantry" in Green Mountain Falls, CO. Robin and I were visiting Debbie and Marilyn in the Florissant/Divide, CO area.

Robin waiting with me for the "surprise package" that Debbie and Marilyn has planned for us. Nope, we had no clue!

More waiting for the "surprise package" pictures . . only Debbie and Marilyn joined us.

Robin and I at Debbie's house outside of Florissant, in the "shade" of Pikes Peak with her "girls". Gracie is the sweet golden retriever in front on the deck. In my lap is Bella (the black doxie) and Heidi (the lighter reddish one who is mom to the other two). Robin is holding Holly who has a very funky hairdo and a blonde highlight streak up the front of her face. We thought she'd look so cool with styling putty in her hair to spike it!

Okay, FARMGIRLS . . . you'll have to check back for more because there is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more!!

We have had the BESTEST FUN . . . LAUGHTER GALORE!!!

I will tell you a bit about our first day out. We got a good start on Wednesday the 20th, stopped in Durango, CO for Starbucks and a quick run to the animal shelter thrift store there. You know how it is . . can't miss those opportunities. A stop at Walmart for lunch items, then over the mountains. But first, less than 25 miles from my house our first major construction delay, then our second even more major construction delay west of Pagosa Springs AND the thick smoky haze from the huge wildfire in the Pagosa area.
Made it to Del Norte, CO and got gas, had a lunch snack, sent a text to our Debbie to let her know the status . . on our way. We HAD planned to go into Canon City for a little play time side trip, and just 14 miles out of Canon City rounded a curve in the road by the Arkansas River, came upon a wildfire that had just started and the road was closed! BUMMER!!! Went back to Cotopaxi Country store for a cold drink. . . what an interesting place. If we hadn't had other places to go that would have been the coolest place to stay for a while.
So, we had to BACK TRACK to go around to Debbie's putting us later than we planned AND missing our side trip to Canon City . . oh well!

Debbie was waiting on her front deck for us, had the MOST WONDERFUL supper for us . . roast chicken, salad, rice, watermelon! Her "girls" met us with great enthusiasm and we made friends with some sweet canines! Had a wonderful time to sit and relax, enjoy some great wine and laugh, laugh, laugh!
Leisurely breakfast the next morning, coffee, time to really gear down and around 9:30 AM we headed out for our day's adventure, meeting up with Marilyn in Divide and then off to Woodland Park for thrifting and shopping . . . then off to "The Pantry" for lunch.
What a lovely start to our time with these farmgirls!

Tune in for the next episode!
I'm at my niece's in Denver, just had a wonderful BBQ dinner with her family including my oldest sister . . . time to go to bed!
FARMGIRL HUGS TO ALL!

So, we're sitting there waiting for the "surprise package" without ANY clue about it. We were at baggage claim in Denver International Airport. We were sitting next to another person who was waiting and she offered to take a picture of all of us, so we took her up on her offer and that is how we got the picture of the four of us.
While this lady was taking our pic, another gal comes along and offers to take a picture of all of us. We told her she was just taking a pic of the four of us . . .
. . .then, just a bit too late, thought it would be a hoot if we would just see how many people we could get involved as they came along to offer to take a picture of "all of us".
So, next time . . . .

More pics and stuff later!!!!

As for the "surprise package" . . all Robin and I knew was that. However, we did hear the words "she" and "her" from time to time. Debbie and Marilyn kept going off to have their little secret conversations, usually after Debbie got a phone call on her cell phone. After a while we were told the "package" had arrived, so we waited at the gate and watched a LOT of people come through after having deplaned.
Debbie walked up to this beautiful lady, gave her a hug, brought her to us and said "this is the package". We didn't recognize this beautiful lady. Debbie continued by saying "she is a farmgirl" . . . "she's in the Henhouse". Well we've met most of the "chicks" in our Henhouse. There are a few we haven't and only 3 that I've never seen a picture of and don't know what they look like.

So, through Debbie's son, Kent, who works for United Airlines, and a lot of other fanagaling, TAMMY was able to fly to Denver from her home in California and join us for some Farmgirl Frivolities!
WHAT AN AWESOME TREAT!!!!!

THANK YOU DEBBIE, KENT and MARILYN!!!

I asked an airport worker to take this picture of us before we left DIA. Tammy is know on the forum as "tammyc".

Because Tammy is the newest "chick" in our Henhouse this is the "Welcome-to-the-Henhouse" hug from the ole mother hen.

Don't forget to check back for more on our Farmgirl Frivolities!
Thanks for letting us share with you!

From DIA they took us all through the mountains and wound around until we got to Sphinx Park, where we enjoyed supper at the Buck Snort Saloon. Old, log building that has been there for a really long time. RUSTIC! UNIQUE! GREAT FOOD! WONDERFUL ENVIRONMENT!

This place is COVERED with "autographed" dollar bills. The ceiling, walls, posts, EVERYWHERE! We had a great evening and dinner! We left our dollars there, on the wall . . there are in the center of this pic.

Next stop? The AVON Walk for Breast Cancer Rocky Mountains event in Keystone/Dillon/Frisco/Breckenridge, CO.
This is the 9 cities event tower that participants can write their greetings on. The Rocky Mountains section is the bottom tier.
Those are aspen trees (aka . . "quakies") next too it.

Now, if ya' wanna learn more about the "APPLE STAND" well . . . you guessed it. Check back later!

Some pics from the breast cancer walk.

The "moto/safety crew". These guys and gals are on motorcycles, the put on great costumes and are responsible for the safety on the route for the walkers. Here they all stopped in at our Quick Stop.

A bit of a view of the "population" at our Quick Stop at one point in the morning. A Quick Stop provides water, Gatorade and portajohns. We also play fun music, decorate our stand and decorate ourselves to coordinate, cheer, encourage and have fun!
Our theme was "APPLE STAND" . . . in keeping with the farm that I grew up on that grew apples.. . among a lot of other farm things!!

Our team for Quick Stop "A".

CJ, Jack and Shakira (not family members) my daughter, Robin, (aka "birdie71"), my niece, Melanie from British Columbia and another niece, Lynnelle, from Denver.
On the back of our shirts we had "Gardners Diamond-T Farm and Orchards" which was the name of my family farm

The four of us who are family at the Finish Line. Yes, we worked as crew but we WORKED HARD and were pooped! The walkers cannot do it without us to support and take care of them.

Robin honoring a walker with a "Connection Ribbon". This honor is one that just brings us together even more for the "fight"!
