This was a tough weekend for my family...my niece just graduated from high school and had her celebration party Friday night and Father's day yesterday. It was the BIG first's since my dad's passing in April. Was a hard hard weekend. And one little gripe..we wanted to take Father's Day balloons to the cemetary and not a store around had Father's Day balloons...but balloons for every other occasion! Trying to adjust without him is no fun at all!!

Lori- I totally understand your sadness. I lost both my Grandfather and Father less than 2 years ago, and like you, yesterday was a strange day for me. Of course we spoiled my husband dearly, but I had no one to buy a true "DAD" card for or to call and wish Happy Fathers Day. Definately a strange and empty feeling. I miss both my Dad and Grandpa so much, and think of them on a daily basis. There is always something that reminds me of them throughout the course of any given day. I agree- we will celebrate their life for the rest of our lives! Hugs to you,

Lori: I understand your feelings and sadness. I feel my parents around me often. It took a long time for me to get over the hurt of missing them. I will keep you in my prayers. Hugs. Marly

I'm sending you a hug Lori! I lost my mom almost four years ago and those firsts really are very difficult. I don't believe they get easier, it's just that you learn to look at them differently I think. I give you a lot of credit for getting through the weekend-I hope time will ease your heart's pain.
