I bought one skein of Noro yarn a couple years ago to knit a piece that I could turn into a purse/bag. Unfortunately I lost the label along the way so now I am not sure if it is 100% wool or a wool/silk combination. Anyone know what would happen when I tried felting it and it has more than just wool as the fiber?

I think the results could be unpredictable. Some yarns felt ok when not 100% wool, but the results will be less reliable most of the time.

If it has silk in it the felting will not be uniform and at the same rate of shrinkage as an all wool. You can get around this by doing a swatch but if you don't want to lose any of the yarn then I would suggest once you wet felt I would use a needle felting tool to bring in any areas that are not the way you wish. Hope that helps.

Ok, I think I have a small piece left to knit a test swatch to see what happens before I do it to the main project. Thanks
