I take glycerine soap and run it under my fingernails and toe nails (i wear sandals in my garden a lot). The soap helps keep the dirt out! I've told a lot of gardening friends and everyone thinks its helpful. |

Never heard of anything like that before, thanks for sharing. Can you get the glycerine soap anywhere? |

Thanks for the tip. I will for sure use it tomorrow as I just spent a good 20 minutes scrubbing under my nails after digging in the garden. I can't seem to function in gloves.

I have tried this before and although it does work I just couldn't stand the soap up under my finger nails.

I too wear gloves but my fingernails still end up getting pretty bad underneath the nails. I'll have to try this.

I like that idea but I can't stand anything under my nails.I'm afraid I would put in under there and it would only last five minutes. |

A million years ago, my mom taught me the trick about scraping your nails over a bar of soap. It's good before all kinds of "dirty work." |
