I posted this in another forum. I didn't realize it should have been here. I had this outdated bell chime in my home. Just plain stained wood with the brass chimes on the side. I actually wanted to purchase another type more towards Colonial/Primitive, but they were way too expensive. So I went to Michael's Craft store and starting looking around. Came across some cheap moldings for a couple of dollars. I bought one (8" x 5"), unfinished wood. I painted the bell chime black and the molding black, glued this molding to the front of the box and now I have a brand new looking bell chime. Cheap too!

I have a bell chime in the foyer that looks almost just like the one you made, Joan. Nice job.

Thanks Joan, but the one I have was bought. I think the one you made looks better than the one I bought.
