Debbie, I love this swap, I thank you and Tammy again for hosting! I still have a Yellow Ribbon around my Oak tree since the Gulf War. I change it when it gets really weathered, but tie the new one on first, then take the old one down.We had a Sub. mail carrier one day, that told me that was the only Yellow Ribbon on the whole route! It reminds us and our neighbors not to forget, We all get busy with life and we need to remind ourselves, when we get tired of high gas prices and taxes, of how great America is and is because of our Armed Forces!

Thank you for sharing your Yellow Ribbon Story, I have not seen one around a tree in years either.

My Dad was in World War Two, was in a POW camp for 17months, lost his leg, then released to Walter Reed Hospital for 16 months. Then home, got married, had me, and died when I was eight from the War injuries. He never once complained, and was always Happy. We don't forget.
He was 36 years old. NancyJo

HI..Debbie...

If it's not too late, I would love to participate this year.. I think the swap sounds very special.

IF we don't support our men and women who protect our freedoms, then I can't imagine how we will be able to remain free.

Count me in.. and thank you.

June 1st already farmgirls, WOW! Where the heck did May go?
We will send your partners in 9 days, hip, hip, hurray, almost time to put the finishing touches on your packages.
I am having so much fun with this swap and I again thank all of you who have signed up to date.
We have 24 farmgirls who have signed up already, still lots of room for more.
This is a picture of one of my many Patriotic Displays that I started putting up Memorial Day to honor my heroes, will continue to decorate through the end of July. This is my hubby in his military days before retirement from the Army in 1996. Isn't he just a cutie?
Any one else out there with heroes or loved ones in the military you would like to share.
Have a beautiful weekend everyone.
Hugs,
Debbie

Oh Maddie, thank you so very much for sharing your fabulous photo and the picture of your Hero, your Son. I appreciate him and your family for your sacrifices. That is what this swap is all about our Patriotic Spirit and the love of all the Heroes out there. I will keep him in my prayers, thoughts and heart.
Many Hugs,
Debbie

I wasn't going to join any more swaps, but this could possibly be the most heartfelt swap I have seen with all of the stories and photos. My dad is a Vietnam vet. He has always been a hard worker and always, always does beautiful work on any project he's ever done. He pours his heart and soul into it.

I would like to join this swap to celebrate those who are serving and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I don't respect war, but I do respect our service men and women.

I love all of the vintage patriotic images!

Maddie,I love your tree! and Emily, I salute your dad! and all the others mentioned on here! We have very close friends that went to Vietnam, some came back, one did not. Every time I see a Vet wearing a Baseball hat that says Vet, I stop and say Thank you! for your service to our Country! and shake thier hand,I don't care if people look at me strange, which was the case once or twice. We cannot say it enough!

Welcome Emily! I cannot tell you how happy we are that you joined our swap. All of these wonderful stories about your fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, etc. are so inspiring. It is our pleasure to honor them in any way we can. And, yes, Connie is a very special farmgirl with a wonderful spirit. Connie you just keep on shaking their hands!!!
