I have a red pair of boots and they get really dirty. I clean them off at the end of the day. Thanks for sharing. I loved the boot pictures. Marly

I have a pair of plain black rubber boots from Wally World that I have had for 4 years and a pair of Flowered Sloggers slip on shoes. Really love the Sloggers for when the grass is short but use the boots when it gets taller and I don't want to get what I have on wet since I water and harvest in the morning.

I just got a pair of Bogs boots for my birthday - they are amazing! I think I could walk a mile in them, they protect my feet from wet and mud...I really like them!

I have a green pair and a blue pair of Sloggers. They're made in the USA and are comfortable and durable. Love them for tramping around in the pasture and working in the garden. I just hose them down at the end of the day.

Fun post! Well...my boots are exactly where I left them when I stripped out of my wet clothes on the front porch. So glad we live at the end of the road. Got caught in a rain shower while tilling. These are my fat baby boots and I love them!

My wardrobe consists of mostly workhorses. Two pairs of "muck boots" - tall and short for gardening. A pair of Ariat lacers for horsies. Much loved faux fur lined sketchers that accomadate straight leg jeans for wintertime. Lace-up suede hiking type Rykas for sure-footed bad weather get-it-done wear. And, of course, heeled leather Watch Yourself boots for when you need that extra height! marianne |

Most of the time it's old hiking boots that have holes in the tops and sides. Super comfey.
I have Muck boots but they are too tall and hot for the summer.
RedGateGal- what brand are your boots? I LOVE those! they would be perfect for chicken coop mucking and quick but sloppy egg collections after it has rained - great for quick on and off shucking too.

I luv that we all have our 'favs'.... I have my special pair of Lucchese boots, my special indulgence to myself...but I also have a pair of Tony Lamas that I absolutly love as well as a really cute pair of Ariats... all my other boots (Dan Post, Justin & Acme) are my work boots....and they do get a good work out. But I also love to schlep around in 'flipflops'...after all, what's Summer with out a pair of flipflops! lol!

I have a pair of favorite Ariat's that I wear in the pasture, an old pair of tennis shoes for the garden unless muddy then I wear my rubber boots that I wear to clean out the barn in the garden. There is a very large collection of boots & shoes outside our door because we all have so many for different chores.

I got Muck boots for my birthday 2 or 3 years ago. They're too warm for summer, but I wear them in the barn and coop 3 seasons of the year. For summer I have an inexpensive pair of garden clogs. |

I have some Lucchese boots that are gorgeous but kill my feet after an hour (way too narrow in the tow) as well as some dressy Frye, Clarks, wellies (TJ Maxx), and my absolute favs are La Canadienne extra wide.

Oh Bummer Kathryn, sorry about the bad fitting Lucchese' nothing worse then expensive boots that hurt your feet. (p.s., my lil sister was born in Louisville, KY.) I luv my Dan Posts for ranch boots.... and truth be known, my Tony Lamas are my best fitting boots.... when I am not running around the house in my flipflops! At my age, I can still kick butt in my pointy toed boots!

Anna,
RedGateGal's boots are Ariats and Ariats are so comfy!
Grace, we call very pointy toed boots Rat Stabbers :) One day at Wal-Mart a gentleman was shopping and had a pair of orange ostrich leather boots with toes so pointy they looked like something aladdin would have worn :) I will have to try Tony Lamas some time. I really do love Ariats.(I had a pair but lost weight and they ended up being too big so I gave them away)
I have some Frye Engineer boots and I found a pair of Dan Post boots at the thrift for $5.00. I also have Vasque hiking boots (another $5.00 find - new!) too but would love a pair of Bogs, they look so comfortable compared to my muck boots.
