Love it too! I can get it locally which is great but it's getting more popular and sometimes I miss out. I tried buying some organic milk but discovered that because it has to ultra pasteurized it has no taste! I use the raw for drinking as well as cheese, yogurt and kefir.

I love raw milk. I am lactose intolerant and because raw milk is not processed, I can drink it. The processing kills the bacteria that help to digest the lactose so I can't drink regular milk. The day I discovered raw milk was the best day ever!

OHMYGosh, I am so jealous of all those who have access to raw milk. I grew up on it and my children did for many years of their young lives. I so wish I could find some in my area.

A rind is a terrible thing to waste. Compost.
When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” -Jesus in John 6:12 NIV Bible |

Only way you can get raw milk here in califorina is to have your own goats or cows.

Pam, have you looked into Organic Pastures in Fresno? http://www.organicpastures.com/products.html They sell organic, grass-fed, raw milk & I think they ship it, too.

You can buy raw milk from Organic Pastures in some stores, just Google them. Not sure where you are located but I know Goodman's Organic store in Riverside sells their milk. I buy it when I come to CA to visit my grandbabies who live in Moreno Valley.
Also, if you go to www.realmilk.com you can find dairies in your area.

Holey Moley! Can you say FREIGHT TRAIN? Suddenly last night I got the worst cramps ever - like birth pains, and then a freight train ran through me. It lasted a couple of hours. I also had icy chills, nausea...yuck. I went to bed around 7:30, then woke up at 3:30 with a much milder case of "the freights"... I went back to bed after my DH and DS left for work, slept a few hours and woke up feeling nauseous as all get. I nursed a couple of cups of tea with lemon and started feeling better around 3:30 this afternoon. I had a very light lunch with about a 1/2 cup of raw milk, and then a full dinner, and haven't had any other symptoms (but also haven't had any more milk!). I am wondering if this is all normal when you make the switch? I am afraid I might have been a little over-zealous on Thursday morning, opting for a full glass of milk with breakfast. Maybe too much, too soon? Eghads - that was no fun! And my face looks like it's breaking out a little bit - not pimply, but with light bumps, but not hive-y looking. My DH says it's the milk and that I'd better quit while I'm ahead; but I'm thinking that it might all be new to my system, and I could build up a tolerance a little at a time. Then my husband saw the news of the E. Coli outbreak in GA/FL, et. al., and he is really upset and worried that I'm the first case in PA! Oh my word... I doubt I'm the first case in PA... and I am hoping the milk isn't "bad." If it were a problem with the milk, surely I wouldn't be the only one with symptoms by now! - Nini
Probably just your body getting used to the GOOD bacteria in the milk. If symptoms persist then you may need to see a doctor or contact the dairy.

Moved to our little homestead in the country in Idaho for two weeks now, before we unpacked, we put a huge garden in, and got raw milk. I was raised on it as a our on a dairy farm in California and was so excited to get back on it. Been slowly reintroducing it to myself and my husband.... And to ky 5 yearold grandaughter who didn't like to drink milk.... Two weeks fast toward. She asks to drink milk contanrly now and my husbands tummy issues are decreasing as well as my ibs. We live the taste, the heartiness and the knowledge that we are doing our bodies a favor by adding beneficial bacterias into our tummies. Yay for raw milk, now back to the unpacking.
