My hubby and I went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I had never seen the Smokey Mountains. Oh my goodness!!! They were beautiful. We were both very thin at the time; I weighed about 100 and my hubby weighed about 130. We were married in March, so we were not tanned. Any who, we took a picture with an Indian in front of a teepee. OMG that was one of the funniest pictures. I lost the picture in a flood. Which I guess is a good thing now, because I would never let anyone see it. LOL

Never had one. Just a bunch of cranky in laws. But it's ok, I love him more every day after 33 years. And he buys me horses! Maybe I should name one of them Hunnymoon.

Didn't have one! But I'm happy to say that dh is whisking me away to Niagara Falls to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this June...it will be our first trip without the kids (which oddly enough does leave me with mixed feelings LOL!).

Never had one...paid for a trip to Ireland but my husband wrecked the car on my birthday (2 weeks after the wedding) and we had to spend all the money saved on a new car. Still trying to save money for a Honeymoon after 11 years!!!!

We had a "stay-cation" for our honeymoon and hit the sights around Kansas City that we don't normally get to see and do. We lounged around the pool at home, ate out at our favorite restaurants, and got to sleep in our own bed.
Every year since then, we take a week of vacation around our anniversary and do the same thing!! We never run out of things to do.
One rule of the stay-cation is that we do not work around the ranch other than basic chores. For example, we even mow before the vacation starts and don't mow again until it is over, just as if we had left town.

Jamaica for 2 weeks!
That was almost 18 years ago when I worked full time as a Travel Agent and that was back in the day when the perks were good! My entire All Inclusive Honeymoon cost us only $234 (Which was the cost of the airline ticket for my husband). I had earned a free ticket and the hotel was "comped". Spent 7 nights at Sandals Dunns River Falls in Ocho Rios and then 7 nights at Sandals Negril. It was awesome!!
We even got the "royal treatment" when we were in Negril. The general manager of the property was someone I knew from years in the industry, and he took us out on private yachts snorkeling (had butlers serving us food and drinks and then they even washed us off with fresh water when we got out of the salty sea water). We were living the high life! LOL
Then when it was finally time to go home, the general manager flew us back to the main airport (what normally would have been a 1 1/2 hour van ride) took us only 15 minute in a private plane. So I guess you can say we had quite the honeymoon. I am happy to report that almost 18 years and 2 children later, the honeymoon hasnt worn off.

Awwwww . . Laurie. I'm jealous!

We really didn't have a honeymoon either. December 1968 and we were buried in snow, but we had an overnight stay with some friends in Flagstaff. (Got married in Colorado at my home, but had to go back to Flagstaff and set up housekeeping. Hubby was in college and I was working)
We took a nice trip to the Bahamas for our 25th anniversary in March 1994 following the actual anniversary.

We went to Niagara Falls and stayed on the Canadian side where everyone said the view was best. It's so amazing to see the sheer power of these incredible works of nature! We did all of the kitschy touristy stuff. However, the best part was on our drive home. A friend mentioned "a little hike" on the American side down to the Niagara river that we decided to take. It had 168 huge stone steps down the escarpment! Though, the view was as beautiful as promised. I was pooped and pleased.

We went to Bar Harbor Me. Stayed in a horrible motel room. But we were tired from driving and decided to stay there. The rest of the trip was great and we went home early to put our apartment in order. Back then you didn't live together before getting married.

Hubby & I were 19 (he) & 18 (me),,,we were poor as church mice so after our wedding we drove up to San Francisco, in horrible rains only to spend our Honeymoon in the only Hotel that had a room availble... then there was a power outage....Oh well, we are still sweethearts and will be celebrating our 40th this coming November.

Petite Jean State Park in Arkansas. We had a beautiful log cabin with a fireplace and a loft, tons of antique stores and a lake. What else could you ask for?

tent camping w/a Volkswagon Beetle, late October. Everything closed the week before for the season. We drove from Iowa across upper US across to Niagara Falls. Then up to Quebec City. Then back west across Canada, south through MN and home. Scraped frost off the windshield every morning. Brrr. Got lost in a basilica. Couldn't see through the trees in a campground in Niagara Falls and slept to close to some railroad tracks. We were shocked in the night by a train roaring past. Lots of other "amusing happenings". My first camping trip. 39 yrs. later..still together.

We got married in Reno and had our honeymoon 25 years later, like quite a few other farmgirls! We took a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands, first class all the way!! So fun.

We didn't get to take one either. He got out of the army on Wednesday, we got married on Saturday, spent the night in a tiny motel in my home town, drove to Tulsa on Sunday and he started aviation school on Monday. Almost 41 years later I'm still waiting on that honeymoon. If we ever take one it better be a doozy!

19 years ago July 17 we rented a car and drove to Cincinnati. We went to a Reds game and Kings Island the next day. He wants to take me to the Bahamas next year for our 20th, but we recently had to spend all the money we had saved to fix a truck. So I don't know!

We had 2 honeymoons. One before we got married and one after.
The "before" trip was to the Dominican Republic 2 weeks before the wedding. (It was a business trip that his bosses told him to take and enjoy), and the second trip was to the Baltimore Inner Harbor (with my then 7- yr old daughter).
In November it'll be 17 years. Haven't had a real vacation since!

We packed up a tent and went camping about 30 miles from home and we took his 2 boys along. They were 2 and 4 yoa and I was not about to make them stay home with grandma, while we went on a vaca. So we all went and began our new life together! It was wonderful and after 32 years it is still wonderful. ANd those memories are just like they took place yesterday.
