Granola
3 cups rolled oats (GF of course!)
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup oil (I used coconut oil)
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 cup dried fruit of your choosing

~ Line your baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat oven to 350 F. Mix oats and almonds in bowl, set aside. In a small saucepan heat honey, oil and salt and heat until warmed. Pour warmed honey mixture over oats and stir using a wet or oiled spatula until oat/nut mixture is coated. Spread over the parchment lined baking sheet and bake approximately for 15 minutes, stirring once, until light golden brown. Place back into bowl and mix in dried fruit (I used half raisins, 1/4 dried cranberries and 1/4 chopped apricots) Place back into oven for 5-10 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool on pain stirring occasionally. Store in airtight container.~

You can add or take away anything pretty much with this recipe! I make mine Gluten Free and have added some chocolate chips after the granola has cooled. If you add flax I'd add ground flax to it after the granola has cooled. I store mine in glass mason jars :)

Thanks for the recipe, Krystle! It looks perfect. Gonna make some tonight. And I love the idea of adding flaxseeds.

If you want to try out another one too, you can find my recipe and how to make it at http://www.oklahomapastrycloth.com/blog/?page_id=1458 where I use my additions recipe on the right. It uses lots of nuts (almonds, sunflower seeds and pecans) and a bit of cinnamon and could easily have chocolate added after it cools. You've now got me in the mood to make some granola!! :-)

This is the recipe I use and our family loves it! I add a few other things to it for our tastes, but the basic recipe is SOOOOOOO GOOD! You just have to try it!
