It's only taken me three months but I've finally got the pictures from our big Christmas Gala loaded! Our library has a very big affair, where we decorate the whole library, using a variety of different themes for the trees and special displays.

I worked at adding a bit of a "farmgirl" twist. Working with some colleagues, we developed a "Christmas is Cookin'" themed section. We developed a cooking themed tree (with recipes donated by staff members) and highlighted some vintage cookbooks and a cooking display based on some items from my kitchen collections. Another colleague baked a batch of fruitcakes based on a recipe discovered in some of Eudora Welty's papers. One lady loaned us some vintage aprons for the display and graciously donated them to the library afterwards. I did a crochet demo with the display.

We even had a separate display that focused on a homespun Christmas and quilting---with a quilting demo provided by a friend.

I've posted a few pictures up on Pinterest, if anyone is interested:

It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun---and we had lots of comments and positive feedback for the library.
