I've made a whole bunch of hats for a friend of mine who is taking chemotherapy (well, she's just finished actually) -- mostly the ones which look like biker caps and scrub caps. (those are her favorite styles). She has a wedding to go to in a month, so we're looking at more dressy alternatives--

anyone have any ideas? If you have any free online patterns to suggest, that would be great! :) She IS very particular that her whole bald head be covered, including the back part of her upper neck.

Oh, and not knitted/crocheted, but rather SEWING patterns are what we're looking for! Thanks for any suggestions! :)

Sheila I don't know of any free patterns but Simplicity pattern 2494 has a real cute turben style and McCalls number 4116 has a cute turben as well. I have used the McCalls pattern for chemo hats for a friend and it's a good one.

She doesn't like the turban style, since she feels it doesn't cover as much of her head as she'd like, she does wear them to bed though.

Well, we didn't find any new patterns, but ended up making one of the regualr "do-rag" style caps with sparkly fabric :)
