Monterey Farm has recalled button and baby bella mushroom packs due to possible contamination of Listeria. They list batch #'s if you think you might have some. Not sure how wide spread nationally they are . I was sauteeing some the other day and my son said "Mom those STINK" and I can't smell anything this time of year so I thought he was kidding but he stopped me and said "No, those smell really BAD like something is wrong" so I dumped them. I guess the fates were smiling on us that day! Be careful and be safe.
I actually had these in my refrigerator! Off to the trash they went. I probably should have taken them back to the store, but....didn't think of it at the time. Thanks for the warning Bramble!!
I don't have any mushrooms in the house at the moment but is good to let others know so I am saying thank you from a person who has had food poisoning a few times not much fun. Thanks for letting everyone know.
Happy to share and food poisoning is NO fun! Glad you caught it in time Karin, a small price to pay for remaining healthy. Your market might give you a voucher if you let them know, mine did. They didn't really want us bringing contaminated products back to the store.
