Hi Kathy, You don't sound negative . . that was more the case with the older canvas tents. However, the issue with this tent was because the seam all around the perimeter about 8 inches up from the floor was leaking and the "joint" where the bottom and top door zippers met was leaking. It wasn't because of "weeping", it was because of pounding rain driven by high wind. AND, there was condensation on the underside of the rain fly that dripped some into the tent through the netting vent material at the top. None of this was anywhere near where we had anything touching it. But we had "de-glamped" it when we knew the storm was coming, Basically, it's a very inexpensive tent, in some weather that was part of a brutal storm. My hubby and I have had similiar experience in a much larger tent that we own . . .large enough and not "decorated", that there wasn't anything touching it. Also an inexpensive tent and same problems . . . There are better tents out there that are constructed better for keeping dry, with sealed seams and such, and we are looking at them for an upgrade purchase. Yes, we will pay more but that's okay! CJ

Have to tell you this little story. On Saturday day when we knew the storm was brewing we were cooking our supper at the same time we were starting our "batten down the hatches" process.
Some older and somewhat arrogant guy in a big, expensive truck comes by, sticks his head out the window and yells at us "well I guess you haven't been watching the news on TV because we're supposed to get wind up to 60 mph tonight". (that was a stretch and, while it was windy, it wasn't 60 mph)
He was staying in a big, expensive RV . . . with the ability to watch TV! Apparently there was not comprehensive of the fact that we were IN A TENT CAMPING SITUATION!!! How the heck were we supposed to "watch TV"!
Fortunately, we had electrical hookup and wi-fi so we were watching the weather on the internet on my laptop so we knew. Furthermore we were ON IT!! We're Farmgirls . . . we did it with FARMGIRL FORTITUDE AND GRIT!!!!

Our new "digs". I ordered a new tent. This is a Coleman Weathertec . . . better tent with better protection against weather.. A bit bigger and I can actually stand up in it, which is helpful when you're trying to put pants on! (I'm 5'8") And, it has a screened vestibule which is also a nice addition. Set it up today to see how it all went together and check it out. Bramble and I can hardly wait for our next adventure! CJ

Love it! I'm looking into getting a new tent that is sturdier as well. How many people does that one sleep? ~April

April, It is classified as a "6-person" but that's pretty crowded. But we've bought enough tents over the years to know that if it says "6" then you can probably get 4 in it okay. Of course, if anyone wanted to sleep in the vestibule there is room for an adult or couple kids out there. I bought it from Amazon. It's the "Evanston" model, you can get them without the screened vestibule but Robin and I REALLY LIKED that feature and I'm glad I got it that way. You can get a "4 person" and "8 person" . . . ;). There are some on Ebay as well, but there was NOT any of the 6-person with the screened vestibule on Ebay.

Well, I did a "walkabout" after we had the tent up, looking at all the places and possibilities for putting our lacy curtains on it. Told Robin we may need to get a Lazy-Boy to put in it . .. :D)
Bramble likes to sleep smack dab in the middle of the bed with me. I've never been able to get her to sleep on a doggie bed. But that's not a problem, she doesn't move a lot in the night. When she goes to bed, she goes to bed! CJ

Hey Ceejay Well after seeing your tent w/the 'sunroom'... I decided to re-think my 'lack of pest free zone' when Glamping... I was over at Wally~World and spotted their little 9x9 easy-up sun canopy and you can buy a snap on screen netting to go around all 4 sides.. this would be perfect around the campground in the evening when the skeeters are out looking for a free meal! lol! I have actually seen gals slide the canapy up against their trailers like a sun room... I like the skeeter netting for a bug-free zone!
