We did manage to make coffee on our stove this morning for breakfast, we had purchased YUMMY Sticky Buns with walnuts from the Rock Springs Cafe and also managed to heat those up in a skillet on our stove. BUT, our feet were COLD, our hands were nearly FROZEN and we were trying to pack up, deal with mud and more rain.
More "memory-making moments"!!! :D) We are FARMGIRLS! We CAN . . and we DID DO IT!!!! YEE-HAW!!!! CJ and Robin

Irish Breakfast Tea with our "toad-in-a-hole" eggs and Robin's homemade bread.
I have to tell you about this apron. I made it and one just like it for my daughter. I was wearing this around our "glamp-site" on St. Patricks Day. After we had finished our supper we were starting to pick up things (weather looking ominous) and some campers from Australia came to see our "back door view" saguaro. One of the ladies saw the apron and asked if she could buy it. I told her yesterday was the first day I had worn it but if she really wanted it I'd sell it to her and told her how much. She went back to their RV, came back with the money, I took it off and handed to her . . she wore it ALL evening!
What a "glamper" dog! Bramble was enjoying the time to snooze.

One of the most fun and enjoyable things about traveling and camping is meeting and visiting with other folks. This trip was no different. I didn't get a picture of Jim from New York, a "tent neighbor" just 2 sites over (the one between us was empty most of the time). He was the campsite "weather man", helped us with breakdown when weather was rolling in and entertained us in his own unique way.
The families from Australia were also such fun. Robin and I were invited to their site on St. Patrick's Day evening to sit around their firepit. We had a lot of fun visiting with them . . . while Sarah was wearing her newly purchased "Farm Fresh Apron". However, we didn't get pics of these folks from "down under" either.
Jimmy, from Texas, tenting just across from us. A widower traveling alone but following the Rangers and going to their games in Phoenix. We enjoyed chatting with him so much, Bramble loved him. He helped us with packup and joined us on St. Patricks Day in the evening for Irish coffee. We all exchanged addresses and emails.
Naomi and James from British Columbia. We had a wonderful and fun visit with them, they were just there for part of one day. Both are teachers and she says she will be shopping on my blogspot for aprons . . . I still had the cowgirl one on. This was before it got purchased!
Well, what can I say . . . Bramble just needed another nap! She is such a good "glamper" dog and we enjoyed her company so much!

Now, I'm going to share the story of the Saturday night "Rock & Roll"! It started getting rather windy in the afternoon so we started taking down our lacy things. While we were cooking our supper we decided to finish taking down pretty things and packing them. AND we put up one side wall on the canopy and then on with dinner. We continued to pack up our pretties, all the while working on our plan for dealing with what was coming.
By 9:00 PM we had all the things under the canopy packed and ready to load, the tent was "de-glamped" of it's lacy things and canopy side wall #2 went up. We proceeded to make our Irish coffee and invite our neighbor Jimmy over . . other neighbor, Jim, came as well but declined the coffee.
And then the wind REALLY started to blow and we decided that canopy needed to come down before it went into space. So we took it down, packed it away, packed everything in the car except our tent and what was in it, our dirty dishes (a little rain wouldn't hurt them) and went to bed.
By 11:30 PM the wind was blowing so hard that the only reason our tent didn't take off is because Robin and I and Bramble were in it!!! 1:30 AM comes around and then the rain came beating down . . and down . . and sideways. We "rocked & rolled" until 6:30 AM. The tent leaked all around the entire perimeter. Our sleeping bags got wet, Robin had a big puddle of water under her air mattress. My air mattress had enough water in the baffle depressions just above my head to splash in it. We scrunched up and stayed in our bags, dry and warm enough . . sort of to make it through the night.
Bramble stayed curled up on my bed at my feet . . her behind was wet but she didn't complain.
At 6:30 AM it stopped and about an hour later we got up and started packing up . . . WET! COLD! Covered with sand! It rained so hard that the dried mud clumps along the bottom of my car that I brought from Colorado washed off!
We laughed! We thanked the Lord for taking care of us!
So, this is our basic tent, "de-glamped" - wet, and a mess!
Our dirty dishes left out . . . wetter and sandy!
Making memories and doing it with great FARMGIRL FORTITUDE AND GRIT!!! CJ and Robin

Oh my goodness, CJ! What a thing! I'm just so glad the three of you are all right!
Such lovely pictures - everything looks so pretty, so relaxing and feminine and such a luxurious way to "rough it!" I'm so glad you had the opportunity to go glamping with your girls! I'd love to do that someday, too! And Bramble's so adorable all curled up in her chair - so content! Looks like the fresh air and sunshine is as agreeable and relaxing to her as it is to you and Robin! :)
Hugs -

Had planned on going back home on Sunday, but the big, brutal storm that rolled through this part of the world buried Flagstaff in snow and the interstates were closed. Soooooo I came home with Robin. I'm so glad I was able to come back to her house and grateful for more time with her. Life brings "hiccups" that turn themselves into huge blessings! I've traveled between Phoenix and Flagstaff thousands (yes, it's true) of times and know how that can be so I chose to not put myself in that predicament and didn't even try it yesterday, Monday. But, I'm headed out today and praying for clear enough roads and traffic to get to Flagstaff. Generally, after you get through and over the hill it's pretty clear "sailing". I hugged & kissed my precious daughter and "glamping" partner this morning as she went to work and I'm headed home. Praying for safe travels!
I have two more pics to post when I get home . . pictures of Robin and me that I just love. Come back and check them out later!
THANK YOU, FARMGIRLS, for taking this little journal with us! CJ and Robin

I have to laugh (with you)... I use to tent camp... and now you know why I love having my little Glamper... lol! Whe I as still at home(not married) our family did a lot of camping. On one family camping trip, KY to Canada...mom & my lil sister slept in the VW Bus,,, daddy & I slept out side on cots. It had started raining,,,but I was in such a sound sleep I never woke up...not until the morning, all soggy, wet & very cranky! I love that you & Robin met such wonderful people and made wonderful memories. Happy Trails!

Home safe! Roads clear and basically dry, but Flagstaff is PILED WITH SNOW! I went through there last Weds. and it was spring, today it was WINTER! So, now I unload my car and unpack some of my stuff and pick up where I left off . . until next time.
HOWEVER, here are the last of my pictures that I wanted to share. Like I mentioned previously, we "dressed up" for supper on Friday night. Here we are . . . I love these pics with my "girl"! CJ
And, again, I say THANK YOU FOR LETTING US SHARE this wonderful adventure with you! CJ and Robin

Glad you made it home safe. What an adventure you had, and many new friends. Wish I lived closer to enjoy some of that. I would not tent camp here this time of the year, the bear are just comong out of hibernation with their babies. Sounds like there are alot of bear here this year. I love my glamer, but cannot pull it myself, have my dear hubby with me, which is fine with me. Loved all the pictures and the fanciness and lace. Bet you lit up the campground!!!! Janet

I don't want to be negative but I always thought if you had stuff touching the sides of your tent it would make it "weep" more. Do you have that problem when you fix your tent up this way?
