Hi all,
I have two daughters aged 10 and 8 who are always asking if they can 'talk' on MaryJane's to the other farmgirls. So I was wondering if anyone had daughters of a similar age who would like a pen pal from Oz? My girls would love to have some new friends to chat to.
Looking forward to hearing from you (and so are Emily and Rachel!!).

My oldest wants a pen pal if this is snail mail. I am not sure I want her at he computer. She too has been asking for months for a pen pal as tey talked about it at school last year and she wanted to know if I knew where to find one.
she can do it by email too just not on mjf ( as she is to young to post on the internet)

Jayne,
I posted somewhere here on the boards looking for an email friend for my daughter a few months back, but didn't have any success. So we were excited to see your posting!
My daughter is ten, eleven in November. Linnea has some personal knowledge of Australia because my pen pal of thirty years came for a three week visit earlier this year. (She's from Bendigo, Victoria.)
Is Emily or Rachel ten? Send us an email and they can get started "chatting".

Thanks for replying - my girls will be thrilled!!
I agree with Sunshine - I would like it to be snail mail (which I know means postage costs are involved whereas the internet is 'free', so to speak). I just think that my girls seem to spend an extraordinary amount of time doing work on computers at school and I would like them to actually have to write and spell without the help of spell check! If that is OK.
Kay, would your 12 year old think Emily was too young at 10 (she told me to put 11 on the message, as she is 11 in November and that is close enough!). Would you prefer snail mail or email?
Emily would love to have two pen pals, so maybe she could also chat with Linnea as they are nearly the same age! Karin, what date is Linnea's birthday - Emily is the 13th of Nov. I love Bendigo - I am originally from Victoria - only moved to the other side of Australia for hubbie's work and am desperate to go back home. Have you been there?
Sunshine, how old is your daughter - maybe she and Rachel can write to each other?

I just went you an email with my email address and Linnea's snail mail address.
Linnea's birthday is November 18 so they are VERY close!!!
Unfortunately, I have never been to Australia. My friend, Ann, has visited me three times. We started writing in 1976 and her first visit was in 1983. She visited again in 1991 and then this past April/May. She says next time she will send me the plane ticket to fly over and visit her! She's single and a nurse and quite frugal, I think.
In the thirty years we've been writing, she first lived in Nathalia, then Shepparton, then moved to a Melbourne suburb for a few years, and now is in Bendigo. Her parents live in Euchuca, which is why she moved the last time, to be closer to them.
I hope someday I can make it your way. Maybe Linnea can come with me and she and Emily can meet!

If anyone is still looking, I've got a 10 year old neice that'd be interested in some penpals...especially if they like anything to do with farming! She has been spending summers at my parent's farm since she was born. She just went back home to start school last week and is really missing her farm chores/life.
Bluewrenn, I may have some friends who might be interested in being pen pals with your boys. |

My daughter is 10 and would love to have a pen pal (via snail mail). If there is anyone left after all of these postings please let me know. She helps with the chickens, the garden and even helps me bake and can.

Hello Everyone, I am more of a lurker than a typer (which I love to read the board) but, my grandaughter who is 7 has been looking for a penpal for months. Does anyone have or know of a little girl who would like to have a penpal? Either computer, or snail mail is fine. But I think maybe snail mail may be a little more exciting.

Linnea and Emily have exchanged a couple of emails. I didn't get any mail today and am heading out of town to a conference in Columbus, OH tomorrow, so my mail will be held until I get back next week. Emily sent a picture of herself and her sister and brother. Unfortunately, Linnea hasn't seen it yet because she's with her dad. When I get back...
