I love MaryJane's Budget Mix and she is my hero (for multiple reasons but today it is Budget Mix)! My youngest son is an incredibly picky eater, he is my little mealtime challenge. A while back I ordered the Budget Mix and everything I've made so far he has tried and liked. He even liked the two BakeOvers I've made, which is shocking given the mixing and touching of food. I am one happy and grateful mommy! Thank you MJ!

I like BO mix a lot, but I've done several mashups as it were, and some of them aren't so great. But that's partly because I tend to overbrown my onions, and then they scorch. But still, I've done a lot with it, and I like it.

I really do like the BakeOvers. I was so surprised that my little guy was willing to even try the ones I've made. I promised him that he can help me come up with our own next time, maybe that will encourage him even more. That could be interesting too. Ha ha ha.

I'm with you on overbrowning onions, I do that myself sometimes.

Justine- We love it at our house too and buy it in bulk. We also bought the farm kitchn version of the magazine because it has so many recipes in it for Budget Mix. Nora absolutely adores the pancakes!

Alee, I love the farm kitchen version of the magazine too, it is loaded with so many recipes that I can't wait to try. Jacob is a big fan of the pancakes too.

I have always ordered the regular white flour version of the Buget Mix. This time I ordered the wholewheat. I made choco chip cookies using the recipe in the baking magazine and my boys didn't notice any difference, they thought they were sweeter! I'm happy because this cookie treat is even healthier at my house now!

I always use the whole wheat version. I'm almost out, and need to reorder.

I would like to try the budget mix, my daughter has a peanut allergy and cannot have anything made in a factory that also processes peanuts, does anyone know if the mix is allergy friendly?

Prudence, that might be on the pages where we order the stuff. I can't remember.
I'm trying to figure out how to make Foldovers so I can bring breakfast with me, or lunch for that matter. I"m not sure what to put in them. I'd be eating them cold.

My husband and I love bakeovers. I've made both savory and sweet ones. You can use store-bought Bisquick or even Corn Bread Mix in a pinch, but it's nice to support MJ when it's feasible.

I ordered the whole-wheat also and I've only made drop biscuits with it so far. Everyone liked them so that was encouraging. I'll have to try the chocolate chip cookies with it. I haven't tried a sweet BakeOver yet but I will be soon.

We love bake-overs around here. I can take almost any leftover and make it into a new kinda meal.
