I swear I saw this in a Herrschner's catalog once upon a time...

There is a wheel-type tool, that will put little slits in fabric, so you can crochet the edging onto blankets, pillowcases, etc. If memory serves (for whatever that's worth these days), it was like a rotary cutter, or it was a blade you could attach to a rotary cutter.

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? If so, do you know where I can get one?

Thanks!

Ann, I would love to find this tool. We have a JoAnn's. I am gonna check maybe tomorrow. I have wanted something like this. Someone once told me that their is a part that goes on the sewing machine that will make those little holes for hankies, and edgings and etc. I would love to find this also. Thanks Ruth Ann for the info. Farmgirl #946 Linda

If your sewing machine does entredeux stitch you can make the holes with a wing needle.

You've stirred my curiosity, so I checked JoAnn's site and searched under "blades". There are two rotary blades, one is called perforating, and the other is slit edge.

Then I wondered if you could adapt a rotary blade by putting evenly spaced dabs of nail polish or tape on the edges. Couldn't hurt (oh, bad pun) if you already have an old blade.

Rosemary, I think that's what I'll do.

Thank you, everyone! I knew if anyone knew the answer to this, it would be my farmgirls!
