So last year I told you girls about my neighbor down the road who was putting in a blueberry farm. I was in the grocery store last week and noticed that they had blueberries on sale. So Sunday evening I went down to the neighbors to see his blueberries. His wife and I picked 2 gallon size zip lock baggies full of blueberries. It did not take us long because these blueberries were giant size. The size of a quarter. Last night I made a blue berry cobbler it was so good. Everything this guy grows always turn out giant size. I call him Jack and the bean stalk. LOl. Anyways so excited to have a berry picking farm right down the road. He also is growing blackberries, grapes and raspberries.

I was reading about planting blueberries, and the material I read said to wait three years before a good harvest. I wonder how this guy did it in one? Maybe he was planting canes that were already a couple of years old??
Alee I think it is organic. I know she and I were eating as we picked and she told me that was fine because there were no chemicals on the blueberries.
My dear grandpa used ot have an entire bluberry patch with blueberries the size of quarters. Oh the blueberry pies my grandma used to make! ohhh, I can taste them now. We used to go in there and have a feast as we picked! So GOOD! YUM!

Wowzers! That is awesome! I had origionaly planted 10 (Jerseys & Northren Blues variaties) of Blueberrys and am now down to 6 plants & each year my berries get smaller and smaller.... but on the plus side my strawberries keep going strong and send out runners like crazy.....
