I would like to remelt candles that have gotten too small to use as well as the remaining wax in jar candles after the wick has burnt out. How would you go about doing this? I would like to put the recycled wax back into jars but can't figure out how to keep the bottom of the wick from floating up to the top of the jar. What would you use for a weight? Suggestions??

When I make candles, I recycle wax all the time. A double boiler will do the trick. I also put about an inch of water in my electric skillet and put the wax in an old tin coffee pot I have. Makes pouring the wax so much easier. You can buy weights anywhere you find candlemaking supplies. I also use metal buttons, pop tops, even pennies or dimes. Dip the wick in the melted wax and attach to whatever you're using.

Thanx for the tip. Would have never thought of soda can tops. Money's too scarce in my household. won't be using pennies or dimes.
