I found a super cute pattern for knitted toddler slippers and have followed the pattern for size 4. Basically, it's a garter stitch with a side decrease, then you sew it up to make a slipper shape. The pattern says to knit for 8.5 inches. And I did. But GEEZ is that huge!!!! I can fit it over my clog and I'm a size 5 adult! I'm using 100% worsted wool, as the pattern calls for, but it seems like it won't felt enough. And, I've never felted before, so any opinions, advice is much appreciated! |

Try knitting a swatch and felting the swatch to see how much it shrinks up in the felting process. This should tell you if the slipper will be too large.

Thanks for the help and the cheers, girls :) I do love it--I just wish I had more time to do it. I'm getting better...if only I had the time to keep practicing to make perfect! Birthday gathering this weekend, so I didn't get to felt the slipper, but I did finish the ears (ceeeute!!!) and I'll start on the other as soon as I get home tonight.
