So as in anyother Tuesday (this was last week), I get the first load in the washer (its less than 6 months old), put in the soap, turn it on and run out the door, cause thats something I don't need to be inside for, probally an hour or so later, go in to grab said laundry to hang on the line, and I have a river coming out of my wash room, run in, machines off, water lines in the back have not burst, drain hose is not ruptured, what the hay!!!, clothes are barely damp and soap is still sitting on them...call sears, they send a guy out on thursday morn, pulls machine, looks at the same hoses that I already knew were fine, disconnects everything, pulls machine all the way out, pulls off back and screams like alittle girl, as he's running backwards, I'm expecting to see a snake hibrinating inside, but NOOOOOOOO, its a mouse, who has chewed thru 2 differant hoses inside the machine cabinet, informs me he can't work under that kind of stress, as I grab said mouse by the tail and fling it out the door, and also informs me that the warrenty is now void, well poop...So i buy the replacement hoses, put them on myself, and make a mouse proof wire mesh cover to put on the bottom of the cabinet, so no more mice can get in, put the machine back to gether, reconnect everything, and it works just fine, so the moral of the story is "mice will chew on ANYTHING", so make sure you mouse proof your washer, so your warrenty will not be voided...tears at first, then laughed so hard I cryed, cause what else can ya do...

Ok, so I had no idea wher ethis story was going at first...but the repairmans reaction....OMG too funny! I agree with CJ that you should have haded the "repair man" the mouse and asked him to "hold this for a second, for me now, would ya?" Glad you were able to utilize your farmgirl ingenuity and get er done on your own! Thanks for the laugh!

Tina: Maybe you should go work for Sears! What a hoot. I'm with CJ, I would have tossed that little mousey in his little pocket. Marly

Oh, for crying out loud! A cute little mouse? I would have thrown it at him, too. Hooray for fixing it yourself!

Oh gosh Tina, I needed that laugh this morning. That was priceless! How could he be so afraid of a little mousie? Poor thing was probably more frightened than he was!
*chuckles* And the Mister wonders why I would rather fix things myself than call in a repairman....

What a way to start your day! I don't really care for mice myself, but I have to agree his reaction was a bit over the top. Good for you for fixing it yourself. Hopefully you won't need a repairman from Sears again anytime soon.

Good grief! This is too funny! I can understand being startled because you weren't expecting a live creature but to tell you the mouse voided the warranty? I'd be calling the company and verifying! I keep getting repairmen out that want to know why anyone would build a house "in the middle of nowhere"! They too are probably afraid of mice!

Thanks for the laugh. Good grief - hard to believe a grown man would react like that. So glad you were able to fix it.

Loyce, did not read that title, but I've always fixed what I could, and sometimes couldn't, I refuse to throw away money for a "repairman", but since the machine was under warrenty, I called, and I have never had a women or man scream and run from a mouse in my house before, and the way he screamed, it just had to be a monster snake, not snake food...

I'll have to relate the story some day of how I squashed a mouse with the sofa.

Since I just quoted Robert Burns in a previous post, maybe I should change it for this situation--"Wee, sleekit, cowerin', timorous repairman, oh, what a panic's in thy breastie..." That is too funny! Cindy

That is soooo funny. I'm with CJ. Too bad he didn't trip while he was backing up. Glad you were able to fix it. But,as a joke, I might have bought a fake mouse and sent it with a note to Sears and told them what happened. Well, then again, why waste the postage on them.
