right now there is a yo yo swap and an embroiderd quilt block swap in the stitching room. There is also a cook book swap and a tea cup swap I am not sure what sections they are in as I am not doing those at he moment. The way they work if you want to do one you start up a topic just like you did here stating what type of swap you want to do or barter which ever it is you are doing and see who responds.

What are we defining as tea towels? Vintage/linen/embroidered? Not terrycloth? All of the above? |

I think one-on-one exchange would work well for this trade. . . anyone care to define terms and organize? |

What I was thinking of is having a sign up and the assigning partners We would have a date to amil so we would all get them about the same time. In my other group we tuck in a tea bag and a few other litlle things for sewing. These would be stitched No terry cloth Let me know what you think. After Labor day I could see about getting it going Hugs, Elizabeth farm girl lost in the big city |

Being stitched would be a time factor for me. What time frame are we looking at? I'm also in the quilt block swap - redwork, and with everything else I have.....???????
So what time frame?
Thanks, gloria g. Richards, TX

Make it a late September or an October swap, maybe, to give us all a chance to complete other projects/obligations? |

I was think od doing sign up the middle of Sept for a week Then assigning parters Oct 1 and we could mail Nov.15 in time for Thanksgivings. How does that sound to everyone. That would us lots of time. The pattern on the towel doesn't have to be fancy. I have some I can stitch in an afternoon. I use aunt Martha a lot or Crabapplehill studio patterns too. I think the plan is a good one -- and if we sign up, we can begin the towel right away, even before receiving our assigned partner -- that gives us even more time. Sunshine, you will make such a fabulous towel, everyone will want it! |

do the towels have to be embroidered or can they be painted with fabric paints?

Oh I would like to join in too - I had an idea that tea towels would be a good swap the other day when I found a website with free vintage tea towel patterns - you know those cute days of the week ones. So guess what someone would be receiving! Let me know though if you think Australia is too difficult (postage can get expensive and I don't want to put anyone out). Just a question, what fabric does everyone else embroider their tea towels on? Best wishes, Jayne |
