We have been pretty chilled in our new house. It sat vacant for a long time, it has old windows (original 1940's if my guess is accurate) and the thermostat seems off so it is hard to regulate.
Anyway- our first two nights were pretty chilly. I finally broke down and bought a heated mattress pad. OMG! I am in love. I had it a bit too hot the first night and so did not sleep great- but last night was probably the best night's sleep I have had in a very long time. I am so happy with the purchase. It was a bit spendy- but in the long run I think it is totally worth the cost.

we have one too & yes, on of the best moves I have made. We have had ours a few years & I used to turn mine up all the time, but now I am having hot flashes way too often so I have found that most nights I can leave my side off & my husbands side on is enough to keep us both warm. It also seems like we have less aches & pains when we wake up after sleeping on the heat all night. Our son(8) absolutely loves his too. |

Hey Alee, I hadn't heard of this until I was visiting a friend last year in Iowa and she had one under the bed in my bedroom...I love that thing. It's not that crazy here, but I'll be getting one if I ever move anyplace colder!

Isn't a warm bed just heavenly? I sure sleep better with added heat, too. marianne |

Is this light an electric blanket? Sounds cozy and warm. Marly

Yes! It's like an electric blanket but a matteress pad instead so my husband can't steal it by rolling over ;) I am sure you can tell how I made the decision I did when looking at the options at the store! LOL

Alee- the only thing is my husband does not like the electric blanket in use on his side. So the quesiton is: does this matteress pad heat up both sides? Thanks, Alee. Marly

Thanks, Alee. So it is similar to an electric blanket. I'll have to check it out. Marly

Alee- I got one as part of my Christmas and I use it every night. I understand about it being set to high and not sleeping too well...done that a few times. My feet sure do love being warm and toasty. I live a house built around 1880 and we to have the original windows (slowly replacing them) so if the wind blows the curtains move and I run for the covers :) Enjoy your warm bed!!
