I am soo soo glad Tala is home! She is such a sweet little horse. The winter has been pretty windy and cold and she is a bit ribby even though I know the boarding facility was feeding good hay and plenty of it. So she now has her rough and tough blanket on and she is in her shelter. I have been giving her plenty of hay and some Purina Strategy. I think she should bounce back pretty quickly now that she doesn't have any competition for feed and has her blanket.
Yesterday I let her out to explore. We have 500 acres that we are able to use until the alfalfa starts growing during spring. It is all fenced and while I can't leave her loose, I can let her out to get some exercise. (Not leaving her loose is my own worries- not the landlords). So yesterday she was out on about 300 acres just wandering around and having lots of fun. :) She comes when called and loves to be around people and I didn't even have to use a halter or lead rope to catch her back up again.
Tala must love having so much land to explore. Post a picture of Tala for us. I'd love to see her. Marly
