Every homesteader or prepper should have a smoke house and the knowledge of smoking and curing meat. This allows you to store meat without having to have electricity! A very cute blog! After reading, I think it's just too warm here. I don't think there would be enough days below 40. It's good information, though.

When you are smoking your meat, remember to take the meat out when it is finished. Several times when smoking elk jerky my husband forgot and it was smoked to a crisp and I mean so crispy the dogs wouldn't eat it!
