ETA: 01/15/2012 Finished Barn roof pictures:

__________________________________________________________________

I wanted to show you the progress on our little farmette this week..my hubby has been doing barn repairs on our 100 year old barn this past year but we had been putting off the roof replacement due to the cost of $9,000 to replace it..but we finally bit the bullet this week and gave the contractor the go ahead to get started..here are before shots..it was rough in many areas...

Side where his shop will be, we had to get it dried in before finishing the inside. It was mostly dry but leaked in several areas.

Chicken Coop side..

It is looking so great, I am so glad we are finally getting it done. We also now have electricity run underground to the barn so it can be wired for lights. And three coats of oil paint so its should be good for another 100 years! *smile* Just had to share!

Pictures of him painting it this fall..

How fabulous that you were able to save a hundred year old barn! Imagine the family that built it so long ago....could they have imagined you would be putting three coats of paint on it and a new roof so many years in the future!
The roof looks really good too. I am sure you are delighted to have it done : ) Congratulations!

Every day is a new opportunity for joy!

What a beautiful barn. Wish I were there to help y'all paint. Keep us posted. Final pictures, too.

Beautiful Barn- Beautiful family who owns it!
I just love the fact as the other gals said that something so old is being taken care of today. If only the rest of the world could see the value in saving our country's historic buildings!
Thank you for preserving a piece of history and for sharing your beautiful barn with us!...

Thank you for the kind words! We are so glad to preserve that beautiful barn for many more years of use! It's definately been a labor of love.

The roof is finished..it's snowing here today but as soon as I can I will get out there and get some more pictures to share of the finished project! xo

Beautiful! We have to repaint our barn this spring (part of our FHA loan requirements) so its fun to see your pictures. I know it will need a new roof eventually so it was nice to see the pictures of your process! Congrats! :)
