I just found out that coconut oil can cause bacteria to grow when used for deodorant. It was recommended to use a bit of thyme oil in it. I'm going to try that next. Just sharing....

Would that really matter if you washed your hands before dipping into the jar, and assuming you bathe or shower regularly? Our bodies are covered in all kinds of bizarre things that don't really harm us, after all. I like the thyme oil idea, though. Couldn't hurt, is antibacterial and smells lovely.

I pack my homemade deodorant in a stick container that I had saved. Works well.
