Tara they are about 15 miles north of us, but they are under control now. The first few days were very scary with the heavy smoke.

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Thank you for the farmgirl prayers coming our way during the recent cyclone event to hit south-east Queensland. Cyclone Alfred did quite a bit of damage on the Gold Coast. We are far enough inland that we avoided the damaging winds. The following rain caused flooding for several days afterwards. My parents had 12 inches over 2 days on the farm. It’s mostly receded now & back to business as usual. We are heading into autumn here, but today is a balmy 85F with 60% humidity.

Cindy, that is so scary. I am happy to hear that everything is getting back to normal and that you avoided the damaging winds. Weather can be so scary sometimes.

I live in California. Monday and Tuesday the temperature was in the low 90s. Yesterday and today the temps are in the 60s. Thirty degrees difference! Wow! We were hoping to get some rain as we are sorely in need of some precipitation here! Almost no rain to speak of this rainy season. Fire danger is very high in most of the state.

Been quite warm in Easley, Upstate SC. Wildfires still burning just NW of me. For days I could see the thick smoke.
We are fine. Need rain very much

Here in California sunshine, rain and cloudy days but the flowering trees are beautiful and the birds are singing their lovely songs every morning.

Folks in Milford, a small town along the Licking River in our county, were advised to evacuate yesterday. And Falmouth, in Pendleton County, where our sister newspaper the Falmouth Outlook is published, was also evacuated along with Butler.
Our home is safe but the dogs have cabin fever.

Wow it’s wild weather everywhere!
Ours is supposed to be clear here today until this afternoon then rain. That’s good for me so I can walk over to the Church and home before it starts to rain.
You all have a safe day today

Love you all

Ugh, I thought all this cold rain was over in April! I harnessed up the dogs for a walk but Oskar Meyer and Liesl said Heck No. Only Rose was game for a walk. I had to towel her off when we got home.
Guess I'll roll up my pantlegs!

Same here Vanessa, we had a total of 4-1/2” of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. The sun finally showed up yesterday but was cool enough in the evening to put on socks and a jacket.

Here in SoCal we need rain badly! The weather has been cloudy in the morning, followed by haze. Not very pretty at all, but at least most of the days are not hot. Today is supposed to be in the high 90s. Not too nice with the haze.

I do not think anyone wants to hear about my weather here on the coast of Oregon:-) I’ll just say I wish the temperature was a little higher here then it will be more like Summer.
Stay cool everyone.

We are having a full week of nineties plus here in the Chicago area. Very hot and steamy making going outside pretty miserable. Our town, west of Chicago, has a old quarry that was turned into a beach in the 1920s. I enjoyed an afternoon swim yesterday and look forward to jumping back in today!

Stay hydrated & cool!

We are seeing the tragic Texas floods on the news here in Australia. Sending prayers to any of our farmgirl sisters who live in the effected areas or have loved ones effected by the horrific events, especially in Kerr County. Please know that we are thinking of you.
