Tornado watch till 8p.m. Tornado watch means conditions are right for a tornado. Tornado alert means a tornado has been seen or touched down.

Praying for your protection Sara, tornadoes are so scary.

It's cold, 30 at night, 50s during the day but we have sunshine so that's a blessing.

The polar vortex that came through is nearly done. We were 14 this morning and will be warming up to 25 today.

We still don't have any snow on the ground. And it doesn't look like we have any in the near forecast. I am so bummed. The snow always helps give Christmas a magical feeling. Hopefully we will have some before Christmas Eve.

Hi folks - well, it's another sunny day here in Queensland, Australia. Only expected to get to mid 80sF today, but we have been hitting 100F+ this past week. 70-80% humidity with the odd shower of rain about. It is our wet season, so some places have had a lot of rain. Brisbane received 70mm of rain in an hour yesterday afternoon, leading to some minor flooding in places.
I must say, I am enjoying having 2 summers in a row. We left Oregon just before the winter set in. I am a summer girl through & through!! It will be a warm Christmas, celebrating in the great outdoors. Lots of cold salads, seafood, cold ham, trifle & pavlova.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain. We need the rain and I need the thunderstorms to clear the low barometer pressure so my MS fatigue will lift off me. I feel better as I write.

We had a bad thunderstorm with heavy rain and horrific wind that started about 11:30 pm Christmas Night. The worst storm since we arrived here 4 years ago. We lost electricity at midnight and it just came back on at 10:30 am. It’s 11:15 and I am just now enjoying my morning coffee. We are more convinced then ever that we must get a Generator. So that will be our first large New Years purchase. Oh joy!
Have a Fabulous Thursday everyone.

Debbie, those storms are always so scary. I hate when we get really bad wind storms. And sadly we get them often.

We are finally getting some snow! The kids and cows are so happy! They have all been playing in the snow all day.

Snow beginning to fall. We're hunkering down for a storm. Not sure when/if I can get to work tomorrow.

We are getting another polar vortex here in the Chicago area. It's been single digits in the morning and the windchill/humidity has been making it feel colder. Snow is due tomorrow and I can't wait to get it. The beautiful snow always brightens our winters up.

Stay warm & cozy everyone!

Vanessa, Beautiful picture of your gazebo.

In the 20s last night - 30 today - same temps for rest of the week. Chance of snow on Thurs. The wind has settled down today but boy did it blow and blow yesterday. All day yesterday the wind whistled across my front porch.

I spent the day watching it snow, such a rare thing in my part of Texas. Mostly we have ice. It should stop by morning and Friday will be clear but cold. 16 degrees tomorrow night.

We also got a few inches of snow here today in the Chicagoland area. It is beautiful outside and looks like a winter wonderland. Our temps are close to 29 which makes it nice to go outside and play.

We had to shovel a bit at first, but my husband got someone to plow the driveways. I still shovel a bit to give the dogs some pee space. My back hurts.

It's snowing, winds blowing, to church we're not going
I'll lounge in bed or quilt instead. And wait for Monday morning.
