Kristina-
What a wonderful 2011 you had. You accomplished so much. I think that if we all sat down and reflected we could come up with many accomplishments, which in turn would make us realize how fortunate we all are.
Personally, I am so thankful to have this wonderful site to share with all of my farmgirl sisters, and to learn and share so many useful ideas from all of you. It is truly a blessing!
Here's to an even better 2012. I plan on ushering it in with open arms.
Happy New Year!

I agree about being thankful for this forum and farmgirls. I participated in many barters and a few swaps this year too.

It is nice to hear someone had a great 2011. I for one had a pretty rough year. I lost both my parents this fall and I'm still grappling with their deaths. On top of that I'm dealing with all the death duties, they left it all in my lap, and dealing with uncooperative & greedy siblings. I am praying 2012 will be a much, much better year!

Dawn, I am so sorry for your situation. I am sending you a cyber space farmgirl hug. I too had a very rough year, but did not want to reflect on them today. I am praying you have a good start to the new year.

Thank you Kristine, I needed that hug! I am trying to remind myself of the good and fun things my own little family did this past year and it does help.

I hope all of us have a good 2012!

You are welcome Dawn. Do have a blog? Maybe you could start one for 2012, to share your new year updates.

So glad that some of my farm sisters had a good year. Im praying for you that 2012 will be just as good. For all my farm sisters that have a rough year Im so very sorry and will also pray for you that 2012 will be a better year. As for my year it's had alot of ups and downs. My brother the drunk has caused so much of the drama. He was staying with us and starting to get his life together . When then he decided to get drunk and attack our 21 year old daughter. So of course he lost his bed at our house. Now my mom, step dad and him aren't talking to us because they can't see what he's doing and what he did. Through all this it has made relationships between my hubby and daughter and I stronger. On a good note we have talked with the builder and picked out a house plan. That everyone is happy with. Hoping 2012 will be the build year but we will see what God has in mind for us. I took a class and scored a A. I took a new job as a nanny and loving it. Hubby has sugery and no more pain. Katy went on a mission trip to Hungry and Romania. Which was a enlighting experience.

Kristina - loved the post and photos - and I didn't think it was long. It could have gone on and on... Lovely...

Dawn - so sorry for your loss. Losing both parents in such a short time is tough. Sending you love and prayers. I am sure 2012 will be a good year. Take care...

Dawn,
I can feel your pain of losing 2 special people so close. Thats how 2010 was for me... I lost my Dear Grandfather to Cancer (at the age of 98 1/2) in January. 3 months later my Dear Dad was diagnosed with Methoselioma (lung cancer caused by asbestos exposure). His battle lasted only 4 short months and he passed in August. It was a very difficult year for me to say the least, but I have to say that there was definately one very strong positive that came from that experience.
I now have a very clear vision as to what is REALLY important in life and have a much better ability to see the beauty in the little things and truly treasure each and everyday.
This forum and all of my farmgirl sisters have helped to re-iterate the importance of the "simple" things in life, and how to appreciate them.
I pray that your 2012 is a better year, and that you are able to move forward from that experience and take soem positives from it.
Farmgirl Hugs to you Dawn,

~Laurie

Thank you for the kind words and Emails. I really have a different perspective now on life. Every day is a blessing and I am grateful for my husband, sons, and farmgirl friends!

Like every one else here, I am going to do my best to make myself a better and happier person. I hope everyone can find their own happiness this year as well!

Every day is a blessing, enjoy every moment of it!

Happy New Year!
