Yet again my mom got each of us the "perfect" book present at a thrift store. In my case it was a french cookbook (I love France) along with a vintage tablecloth that matched the Fiestaware teapot she got for me too. She didn't realize that it was a perfect match till she got it home, then when I was looking at the tablecloth I found that it was from Paris - serendipity???

I'm a thrifter too! We have a Goodwill about five minutes from our house. It's a great place to get holiday decorations and books and such. I go about once a week to check out their "new" items. It is such fun!

Add my name to the list of farmgirls who just love to do thrift store shopping. Aren't farmgirls the smartest women out there?! We know not to pay full price for anything any more. Haven't been in a department store/mall in a very long time and don't miss it. I feel good when I make donations to Goodwill, but even better when I find outstanding deals. My mission now is to find 100% wool anything so I can cut up into mittens, hats, scarves, blankets and anything else I can think of for gifts this coming year. Told my DIL what I do and she thought it was too much work!!! Wait until I make something for her out of my recycled sweaters, etc. It's not all that hard to do at all. But then she's not a crafter or thrift store shopping person. Farmgirls just know how to get all there is out of just about everything. Love finding an "upscale" brand item for a couple of bucks at Goodwill. Just makes me feel so warm inside and I leave with a smile on my face knowing how much I saved. Also salvaged a couple of wool shirts that my DH has "outgrown" from LL Bean that I'll make into something as well. Yippy!! |

We have a wonderful resale shop that supports a local Christian school. I found last week a old metal potatoe masher for 2.25 and a ovenware extra large bowl for 8.50. Sells online for 70.00 to 129.00 dollars.I felt like I scored. Im a resale shop junky. Love doing resale swaps. |

Been thrifting for clothes at Sears Outlet for the past 4 tuesdays-you join their rewards club & get an article $7 or less for free,no purchase necessary-plus many of their $9 items are slashed 50% so I've been getting 3 items of new clothing for $10 or under-lands end flannel PJ tops, velvet blouses,t shirts,Christmas dressy mock turtlenecks & scoopnecks, and spring nightgowns. This tuesday will be the last day for the freebie. Feelin sooo fashionable!
