dr called while i was in walmart today; so there i stood surrounded by 100's of cheerful holiday shoppers! and a few maybe not so friendly..

anyways-Lumpy IS cancer and the first step will be to biopsy the lymph nodes wednesday to see how much-if-they are involved.

then he thinks chemo to shrink things before any surgery....

when we get home after Christmas; i will get my hair cut so that there is less to lose and tonite i am ordering a sleep cap from one of the breast cancer sites.

prayers and good wishes continue to be welcomed and appreciated...and needed.....i fully intend to thrive/survive but for now i'm thinkin i need to go cuddle with the dog and cat.....

Aw sweetie...it was at this time last year that we had found out my mom's breast cancer had returned. Here we are a year later and things are going pretty good. It's so hard though. I will continue to keep you in my prayers!

Margo, it's never a good time to find out that you have cancer. Anymore, it's a winnable fight, so put on your best boots and give it a good hard farmgirl kick. I've been with my dad through two bouts of skin cancer and prostate cancer and he's in his 80's and has been cancer free for almost 4 years now. (((hug))) What a Christmas present, huh?

The best things that you can do are to live like you've never lived before. Take in the beauty of the world, stay positive and enjoy Christmas. Chemo may make you lose all desire to eat, so keeping a lot of light, nutritious foods handy helps.

Sincerely praying for you and sending warm farmgirl hugs.

thank you all, sisters!!! i fully intend to come thru this kicking and swinging!

i am a bit woorried about the eating cuz, as a gastric bypass patient, i have to really watch my protein intake and don't absorb all of the vitamins that the rest of you all do....

i do think of lumpy from beaver but -i also remember my mom and dad calling my younger brother lump lump tho i do NOT remember why!!!!

knowing that well be with my kids and grands next weekend helps...tho tonite i was informed that i have to tell my 14 y/o granddaughter....it can be a good educational tool!

I am so sorry to hear that...It's not an easy road but a winnable one. I have had several friends go through it and all came out the other side ok. I will keep you in my prayers. Try to have a great holiday with the family despite it all. (I know, easy to say....) You definately have a good support system.

Blessings, Sheri

Oh Margo! My heart sank when I heard this. I feel better about your positive attitude though, and there is no doubt in my mind that you will fight it kicking and swinging! Only a fighter would say that telling her granddaughter she has cancer is an educational tool.
Keeping you in my prayers!

Margo I'm sorry for your diagnosis but I love your attitude. I do believe you can kick lumpy to the curb in true farmgirl fashion. It will be a long and difficult fight but when you find your strengTh ebbing come back here and we'll get you lifted back up in the saddle. My mom had breast cancer at the young age of 30 back in 1960. Had the mastectomy, lymph nodes removed and they even did a complete hysterectomy on her (standard practice back then). She died 35 years later with the breast cancer never returning. YOU CAN BEAT THIS!

Oh, Margo... Don't worry, sister, I've got your back and am lifting you in prayer a couple of times a day! You can do this, and we're all here for you - whatever you need, okay? You definitely have the right attitude, and that's half the battle! :) Hugs and much love - Nini
