Suzanne you are absolutely right. This is not a swap to outdo each other. Karla simply went above and beyond because I was hosting the swap. Believe me I have been doing swaps on here for over 3 years and I learned to open my heart more when I have the money.
This is not a contest or go in debt swap. lol It is a way of sharing a part of yourself and forging friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime!
Farm girls are giving by nature. So, the more you become a farm girl the more your nature will learn to give!!! Does that make sense?

Shelly, please do not feel bad. I too understood it was a tea cup and fav teas swap. Which it is. Some like to give more and can afford to, that's okay. But if you joined this swap for the fun of the swap, then just making sure you follow through with sending what the swap in itself is about, is a BIG thing. Some do not receive from their partners at all, and to me that's something they should feel bad about. Your tea cup will be enjoyed by your recipient no doubt.

My box is ready to be brought to the post office tomorrow, paid label and all. I forgot it was MLK day! So sorry to be late but it's been a busy week and my swap partner did not send me her address until much later. I knew how my schedule would be hence why I wanted to start this process early. Oh well!

I would agree with everyone, it has to come from the heart. Having been raised in a large city with an abundance of stores and choices, I found it extremely difficult to find a tea cup in my small town USA. I did not want to drive to Montreal, where I knew I could find something. It is truly a miracle that I finally found something. Did anyone else have difficulties finding a suitable cup? There are no flea markets around my area.

I have really enjoying seeing what everyone has received. Thank you for taking the time to share.

It took me four stores to find a decent teacup. I live in a fairly small town and things like pretty teacups can be hard to find. I had so much fun getting my package together that I think it very possibly could be more fun then getting my package, not that Kayla won't send me something great. I found it so fun to imagine a fellow farm girl enjoying tea that I just kept filling up my box. Since I got things over a few weeks I don't have any idea what I spent I just had fun. Hope everyone gets to have fun and really not worry about equal value among friends. Friends shouldn't care except about the thought and care from another and I am sure that other farm girls feel the same. I think this is a terrfic swap whether you get a small or big package. It. Is still a wonderfully thoughtful gift.

Emily, I totally agree with everything you said in your comment. In this swap, as in the others I have participated in, I had SO much fun choosing things for my partners, that I too just kept filling the boxes. I have never kept track of a dollar figure on things sent or received...I do know I have been the lucky recipient of WONDERFUL packages from all my swaps. It's like the old saying goes though....tis better to give than to receive! I have loved getting to know my lovely swap partners, which is just as great a gift as the gift itself! I have been blessed in my life to be able to swap without worrying about money, however, I love nothing more than handmade gifts from the heart...it's NOT about the money or the quantity of gifts...it's about thoughtfulness and caring and giving from the heart :)

Hugs, Tammy

SuzanneH--Please forgive me, your package did not go out on Tuesday, as I told you it would. But it is ready to go and will be at the post office tomorrow, Thursday, I hurt my knee, and have seen a dr. and now had an MRI. I have a bone spur, and will find out friday, if they are going to remove it.
Your package came yesterday--WOW it is so awesome. How you knew that I liked pink is beyond me. I love pink roses. We immediately tried the cookies over steeping the tea, they were fantastic. Never heard that before and that was a big hit! Did you make the placemat and napkin and little bag? So precious. What a great swapper you are, thanks so much. I am thinking that you may not get your package till monday. I am sorry it is late.
I agree it is not to outdo or to put your self in debt for these swaps. Give from the heart and sometimes, you can give a little more than other times. But Suzanne, outdid herself. I really love all I got and appreciate the time and effort put forth in shopping and putting my box together. Included also was a small jar of honey, and Tea bags. Huggs to all. Farmgirl #946 Linda

Suzanne, your package is on its way. I did the priority 2-3 days, so it will be Monday, is what the lady said. Again, my apologies, and I am really enjoying my swap. Hope your box is all that you envision. thanks again. This was a great swap! Great swap partner!! Farmgirl #946 Linda

P.S. The little wafers that you sit on your on top of cup while your tea is steeping is the BEST! I am keeping box, would love to find some. My sister-in-law in Oklahoma, does tea also, and she is going to look at her tea shop. Thanks

It looks like every one has been doing a great job telling their partner when they received their package.

That makes it nice for them and the rest of us to know you got your swap and they know you got it too!

Don't be shy speak up and report when your swap package arrives!

I am so happy that you loved your "Tea" by mail. Yes I did make your textile items. That is what I do for a living, make things with antique and vintage textiles. My little girls ( Alice and Lily AKA Tuttie and LouLou) helped me with everything.

Don't worry about your ship date, I just want you to take care of yourself.

Enjoy!!

Oh Linda

The little wafers are amazing. We can't keep them in our house. All of my kids drink hot tea. I fell in love with the wafers in Europe, couldn't find them here for a while...gave up then a friend brought me some back from Belgium---my kids got addicted and I had to start looking again. I used to order them from a place in New York, but now I can buy them when I drive into to Baton Rouge one hour away at World Market. So you should be able to get them even if you have to order them online. If not let me know and I will post some to you.

My tea party box came today and I can not tell you what a joyful suprise it was to see a beauitful cup and saucer with strawberries on them, along with a little plate that is light blue with strawberries, and heart deco lace around edge. Marsha how did you know I love strawberries. I also got a really cute and good smelling pink cup and saucer made from soap. I have never seen anything like it, it's so cute and the different teas which I have already tried and am enjoying so much. Thank you again Marsha. And a really big Thank you for putting all this together it's been really great fun.

Shannon, got my box and just love my teacup and tea! I'll think of you in Salmon while I'm sipping. Your package went off..like others I got caught in the MLK weekend and I forgot to insure it- it does say fragile thank heavens and it is wrapped in bubblewrap. I hope you enjoy the treats made here in the land of the Redwoods.

Well after a week of thinking my tea cup would never get here I found out it had been here the whole time!!!! The mail woman stopped at my house today and said that she put the package on our front porch. Which by the way is never used, the sidewalk is not shoveled and its obvious we use the other front door I was shocked that she put it over there! I quickly emailed Sandra and told her I had found it and would be opening it as soon as I finished the email and man was it worth it. The tea cup is so pretty and the rest of it is just as good.

I feel just like a Princess having a tea party and I wish Tammy were here to share it with me as she made it all possible. Thank you so much Tammy for all the wonderful Tea Party Treasures, the Beautiful Vintage Tea Cup and Saucer, Teas, Scone Mix, Cookies, Lemon Curd, Tea Towel, Tea Box full of wonderful recipes, a book called "If Teacups Could Talk, Sharing a Cup of Kindness With Treasured Friends", little tea pot ornament just everything. But, my favorite is the Tea Party Collage Tammy made for me, it is so sweet, and the embellishments are so cute, I love it and will always treasure it. Thank you so much Tammy for a wonderful Tea Party with all the treasures.
Thank you too Marsha for the idea and being the perfect Tea Party Hostess.

Farmgirl Hugs,
Deb
