Okay farmgirls...this swap is for all the vintage card fanatics like me! THIS WILL BE A VINTAGE VALENTINE POSTCARD/CARD SWAP...meaning a vintage Valentine postcard or a vintage Valentine card (pre 1950's). You can specify one or two partners...signups can begin now...deadline for signups will be Sunday, January 8th...deadline for mailing will be Tuesday, January 31st, so we can all enjoy our cards before Valentines Day! As a special bonus, as the swap hostess I will be sending everyone who signs up a vintage card from my collection :)

Tammy...Well Absolutely I am In!!! I want 2 partners and I am going to my Favorite Antique
Mall tomorrow to look for cards. Next month they will have more Valentine ones out...but hey,
I'm still going to poke around and see if I can find some hidden away...

why posting pictures is so important? You just never know what will spark a Fire. And we learned
too that many of us had the same passions as Tammy for Vintage Cards/Postcards.
Tammy...how will we know if they are 1950's or earlier...do they usually have the dates on the
postcards???
Also, proud of you girlfriend for doing this swap and venturing out...your enthusiasm alone will
make this a Fabulous Swap!

Peggy...so excited for this swap! In answer to your question, I would definitely say that a "postcard" would be vintage and most likely postmarked. As far as vintage Valentine cards go, I'm ashamed to say I can pretty much tell by looking at them what era they are. Some will have a date somewhere and there are certain styles, colors, etc. that you can kind of pinpoint. I would say you can't go wrong with postcards, if you're not sure. I know anything you choose will be perfect!!!!

Tammy I found two 1909 Valentine Postcards today at the Antigue Mall.
Next month I know I will find more postcards and cards for Valentines Day.

I have to share this with you all. I forgot I had this in my possession. I am in the process of cleaning out a junk room, to make into a craft room, well inside one of my old suitcases I found this scrap book I purchased ages ago. It is filled with old valentines & Christmas cards & trade cards. It was given to Harry White by his Grandma. Whoever Harry was, all I can say is Harry was one lucky fellow. I feel like I found a pot of gold :) There is this one Valentine card with all this intricate lace on it, but when you look closer it is hand made, probably by Grandma :) I just had to share this. No one in my house appreciates this kind of stuff :( Tomorrow, I hit the antique shoppes for Valentines :)
