Someone had posted some links to free pattern sites and I can't find it now, so I've started a new topic.

I recently came across Berroco's (yarn mfgr) site and they have a huge selection of patterns - I was looking for a simple pattern for a handbag and they have hundreds! Also lots of sweater and other patterns.

http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/a_exclusives_03.html

If anyone knows where that other topic is, and posts something new there, I will see it and post this link there as well!

You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands - You shall be happy and it shall be well with you. -Psalm 128.2

www.knitty.com Knitty has great patterns and articles...comes out quarterly. FREE!

www.straw.com lots of free patterns

www.magknits.com newer e-zine, but it has some good patterns.

one of my fav blogs -www.glampyre.com Stefanie designs patterns (lots in knitty) and offers some free ones on her site. Her design your own sweaters are great- she teaches you to use your own measurements to create sweaters, rather than just following a pattern.

www.knittersreview.com Knitters Review forum is worth joining- lots of info, tips and patterns

http://www.cascadeyarns.com/patterns.asp

www.crafster.org/forum amazing bunch of craftsters who offer their spin on other patterns, and lots of free patterns throughout. Scroll down to the knitting forum (and the others are great too!

I LOVE knitting (although I've been very lazy this summer and not done much). Let me know if I can help with anything else. I have lots of links for measurements, how-tos, that kind of thing (I taught myself from books and the internet).

oh- some of my fav blogs-

My favorite free pattern is the Incredible, custom fit raglan sweater. It is knit in the round using circular needles. http://www.woolworks.org/patterns/raglan.html

I did the raglan for my 2 year old daughter this christmas with about 2 skeins of redheart varigated. (total cost under $8) It was so fun to work on! There is not much shaping, so a great pattern for working on while doing other stuff. Walking, radio, etc.

These is a site out there http://knitpicks.com/kpimages/pdf/50417220.pdf that has a two socks at once on cicular needles pattern that I am dying to try. Each sock is knit side by side on its own ball of yarn.

My local library has a nice interlibrary loan program, so I often reserve everthing they have on a particular topic.. ie knitting, crochet etc... browse at home and returnm all but a couple.... If you can find them I like the elizabeth zimmerman books. :-)
