Moonshines,
I sent your package off today. It is more of a gift of art than mail art but I hope you like it regardless. Have a great Christmas!

Happy Trails!

Isn't this the most beautiful and exquisite tatted snowflake? It also has some beads worked into it.
This is December Mail Art from Marilyn Edlund that came to me.
It is just STUNNING!
THANK YOU MARILYN!

CJ and Marilyn, That is a beautiful snowflake! I love how "loopy" it is with the smaller threads looped out. Very beautiful!

Here is the wonderful December mailart I received from Maddie. Thank you Maddie!!
The painting is my favorite and I was surprised when Maddie told me she does the paintings with make-up. I know my picture doesn't do it justice-sorry Maddie. the gold ring is a scarf ring with a Santa-pretty! And the spoon, a gift from Maddie. Thank you Maddie, you are very generous.

Linda Jo and Maddie...I love the painting and the altered spoon. How do you paint with Make-up and
how did you ever come-up with that medium? Very Creative! I have used nail-polish to paint with
before...on ceramics.

Hi Peggy :) Like I told Linda Jo, I was 14 when I started using make up as medium. When in need one uses what one has ;) My big sis was not amused to say the least, we still laugh about it :)

Maddie, your "paiting" is beautiful! I can't believe that's makeup! Call me crazy but when I first looked at it, I thought it was some type of needlepoint! You are very talented!

Madeline...(Love your name as that is the name of my 3 yr old Grand-daughter)...anyway, I can well imagine that your sister did not
appreciate your creative use of her make-up...but we are all most impressed! So, is that the medium that you use for all your
paintings? Do you ever need people to send you make up that they no longer use or never bought the right shade etc? Because I think
you could get a serious supply from your Farmgirl Sisters. LOL!

blessings,
peggy

Peggy,( LOL ) :) Yes, I use make up for all the drawings & people give me unused make up to use. Believe it or not the cheap stuff works the best :) I mix it up with different shadows & nail polish, blush, eye liner. I am always trying new variations. I find the eye shadow is way better than pastels & the color combinations are endless. I use make-up in just about everything I put together for the swaps. Linda Jo's spoon was done using nail polish. It seems to stay on the metal of the spoon better than acrylic paint & if the spoon has patina, the shade comes out so pretty. Now a days if I buy make up & it looks hideous on me, I just add it to my supply ;)

Blessings

How wonderful Maddie!! On the opposite side of the makeup for painting....I once used a brown sharpie marker to color in my eyebrows when I forgot to use my eyebrow pencil on the way to the doctor...My kids still rib me about that one...Necessity is the mother of invention, though!! I sometimes wonder what that doctor thought?????? hmmmmmmmmmm.....

Well!! Merry Christmas to Me! Thank you Nancy for all the great gifts: a kitchen set of towel, mitt and hot mat in glitzy colors; a card with WOW factor (love it); and a sweet little mug (got left out of the picture). On top of all this was a very kind note from my farmgirl sister. Too much. Hopefully I will get your humble mail art out on Monday. Again thanx so much.
