I thought I would share with everyone my adventures in green remodeling. We recently purchased our first country home. It is adorable and the family is in love.
One of the places all farmgirls live in is the kitchen. The cabinets were handmade in 1954 and are in amazing condition.
All of my inspiration for this has come from a print on linen that I found at my local flea market.
We started by painting in a eco friendly paint I took a picture of the wall, they needed painted BAD. It took about 4 coats.

You go girl, I loved re-doing my old kitchen years ago. It felt like a really acheived something when it was done, something bigger than I had ever taken on as far as work type stuff goes. Kids are really on their own level of achievment. Good luck and keep the pictures coming.

Emily, How cute!!! Congrats, you are no longer a currently renting farmgirl wannabe.
I love your inspiration also. Actually, I kind of like that old fashioned floor in the kitchen. Are you going to keep it or what are your plans.
We will look forward to more pictures.

This looks like a dream come true! Congratulations! Remember you don't have to do it all at once. I have to keep reminding myself that about Permacuture! Dreams coming true here's to you! Looks lovely if you can get the book Restore,Recycle and Repurpose by Randy Florke, Love it has the homey farmy ranchy vintage feeling though out it. Your inspiration is so in line with it! Yay for you!

I have an update for all the ladies here...
We moved in this weekend and I started to unpack everything... I had to show off a bit, here is my new spice drawer, it is love at first sight for me.
Here is the border that my mother helped me to hang in the kitchen along with the curtains from my old kitchen.
Sondrak as for the floor it is staying right now. We do have plans to peel and stick a new one down at a later date, but right now the floor is functional and it works with the colors.
Now we have an issue come up. It has been raining here all day and I went to hang some hooks for our coat and my daughter said, look mommy the wall is went. Sure enough there were drips coming from the ceiling. The roof is about 10 years old and we don't know what could be causing it, other than the roof is leaking somewhere. Here are a few pictures.
