In March of this year we moved to an old farmhouse that was perfect for us...on the surface. In the end we moved 6 weeks later because the well was contaminated with Nitrates (I think that was it). It made us horribly sick, vomiting for weeks and weeks.

Since that point we have have caught every single sniffle, cough and flu that has gone around. I am tired of it!

We drink lots of Orange Juice and eat a lot of vit C righ foods but it's not enough.

What can we take as a whole family (2yr and up) that will help boost our immune systems?

I have found high dose vitamin therapy to be the best thing for my family. We are taking 2 multivitamins in the morning and 1 at night. If we begin to get sick we add 1 more in the afternoon. You should start with 1 in the mornin and 1 at night for about a week, then increase it.

I know people who take 3 and 3 all year long. They swear it's better than anything for their immune system. I find more than 2 at a time makes me nausaeus.

Using honey instead of other sweeteners has really helped us. Local honey, not store-bought- they've studied some store brand honey and found ZERO pollen in it. Not sure what it was they tested, but it wasn't honey! Find a local beekeeper, the closer to your home, the better :)

Vitamin D helps a lot too! I'm taking 4,000 IUDs a day, and so far, since about September, I've only had 1 cold, and it was a mild/short-lived one! I work in daycare, so the little kids are always coughing & sneezing & being gross all over you (lol). I started last October with Usana vitamins & have found that they really work wonderfully! (Now I'm taking 11 of them twice a day!) Echinicea works good for colds as well. If you find yourselves with colds, put Vicks (I use Watkins Ointment) on the bottom of your feet & a steamer at night - works great! What about an air purifier?

Hope you're all feeling better soon!

I would recommend a good liquid vitamin supplement, as your body absorbs it more readily than a tablet. Also try echinaccea, it helps to build a strong immune system. Hope you feel better soon!

Any recommendations on a brand of vitamins (liquid or otherwise)? What about echinaccea? How many capsules would be good to start with echinaccea?

Since I have a little on (not quite 2) what can I give her? Is there a good liquid all inclusive supplement that she can safely take?

Thanks for all your help!

I take a brand of liquid vitamins called Organic Life vitamins. I buy them at a local wellness center.I don't know what the dosage is for echinnaccea, your local natural foods store personel might be able to help you.

Thanks everyone. I will head down to the natural food store tomorrow and see what I can find. Anything will better than what we have now. :)
