Here's a reply to Margie's question about who's working on counted cross-stitch projects. I also love to cross-stitch! I've been working on a Frank Lloyd Wright design (saguaro cactus) that I picked up at Taliesin West in AZ about 6 years ago. Here's what it's supposed to look like when it's done (this is NOT my finished project):

I repeat: THIS IS NOT MY FINISHED PROJECT! I have a long way to go...![](icons/icon_smile.gif)
It's teeny-tiny fabric and a very large design. I figure, if I do about an inch or so a year (which is about what I've been doing), it may be done in about 20 years! I do so love to cross-stitch though. I should pick up a smaller project for the fall...and just thinking about this cactus one again makes me want to dig it out and get going! So many projects, so little time.
What are you working on?

I'm working on kitchen towels with a Tuscan design for Christmas presents. I also love to cross stitch and have several "in the works". My husband laughs at me when I buy a new one - "project 634B?" he'll say. But men don't understand that collecting designs is part of the fun - even if we never do them. I don't buy kits usually. I like to put together my own. But I love having the designs, even if it takes 20 years to do them! Stu and live in an old bungalow that we've furnished in the Arts and Crafts style and I love your Frank Lloyd Wright!

I'm doing antique samplers from "The Scarlet Letter" (that is when I'm not yo-yo-ing, Sunshine!!) She has an awesome collection of antique and reproduction samplers.

Kathy, I love the Scarlet Letter samplers! I had not heard of them until your post and I'm so glad you mentioned it. When will I find time to get one of these in? I don't know, but I must order at least one of them. So neat! Thanks for sharing!

I agree and would never complain about it! I love working on my projects and believe me, I have way more than two going now. Knitting, stitching, quilting, photo albums, shadow boxes...there's so much to do and I love doing it!

Hi all, It's always good to hear that there are plenty of others that have at least a hundred projects on the go at once!! I like lots of crafts so have lots to do (and I have a lot more patterns than I could ever do!). Cross stitch at the moment, I am doing a Thomas the Tank Engine for my son's 2nd birthday and a design by Lavender and Lace called Ice Angel. I love the angel designs by Lavender and Lace and Miribilia and also the Amish designs. Luckily I have two daughters so I can pretend I am doing them for the girls!! Best wishes to all and happy stitching, Jayne |

Oh Kathy! The Scarlet Letter has LOVELY things! I found a reproduction kit, along the same lines, at the thrift shop a few weeks ago! It is a sampler, on linen, just beautiful...couldn't believe my luck! I have it put aside for a winter project. Haven't done any cross stitch in years but lately with so many gorgeous samplers out there I am itching to get back to it! I'm a colonial gal m'self but I do have a soft spot for the prairie style too! LOVE your project Catherine! Rhonda

I have a large sampler I have been working on for years. It is Ecclesiastes verse "For everything there is a season"....someday there will be a season for finishing this sampler! I used to stitch for two hours an evening, and that was when I was working for a cross-stitch designer during the day! Now, I am much slower, but still love the art of stitching.
Peace |
