I have been reading some of the old posts and am curious how the worm farms are going. I have been wanting to start my own but am intimidated about it. I have compost bins, but I want worms to feed my ducks, chickens and guineas this winter.

We have a Worm Factory 360 bin system. We started in April with 4 bins and 2 lbs of Red Wigglers. We put about 1/2 lb into our garden boxes in June, and we just added 4 additional bins 2 weeks ago. We're not sure how many lbs we have now, but we guesstimate it is around 4-5 lbs. The worms are very happy, we can tell because of all the little amber-colored eggs we find throughout all the bins :) They can lay an egg a week if they are happy campers. The baby worms are actually quite cute (never thought I'd say that... but it's true!).

Would you like pictures of our set-up? I'm moving them from the mudroom to the main house today, I could definitely snap a few to give you an idea :)
