I have Dutch Doll quilt blocks made in the 1930's by women in the Floyd, New Mexico, area. Their family names are Beck, Olson and Depuy. Please have a look at my site for the details.
Today I finally had some time to enjoy my most recent Mary Jane's Farm magazine... and the beautiful photo of the Dutch Doll quilt on page 78 reminded me that this would be a good place to get the word out about these quilt blocks. I'm trying to find descendents of these women, and get these sweet girls into their hands.
I'm so excited! The Olson family contacted me. One of the women who stitched her name into the blocks is almost 97, and they'll give the three Olson Dutch Doll blocks to her for her birthday! And... turns out, my great-grandfather's brother is a great-great-uncle to the woman who wrote me.
I love the internet!
I may have found the Depuy family, but am still searching for the Beck family.
