How often do you change your needle? I have only been changing mine when they break but I noticed today that when sewing thru delicate fabric it kept snagging, I was thinking it could be a burr on the needle but I have never had that happen before. Any advise?

God bless,

Judy

The rule of thumb is to change needles with each project, of course more often is the project is huge as in a quilt. Needles are not made like they were years ago when you would change only when it broke. Also pay heed to the size needle that you are using, delicate fabric needles a smaller needle, usually a 70.

I always change needles when I go to light fabric so I don't snag it. With heavier fabrics I just check the point of the needle as I am working and when it feels dull I change it. I keep the old ones for heavier fabric to use for repairing coveralls that kind of thing so I don't wreck my good needles.

Give thanks to yourself everyday for all the wonderful things you do!
